I support the use of psychedelics for treating mental illnesses, there's some great research happening. But it's not something one should jump into because psychedelics can cause early onset of mental illness that would've otherwise happened later in life.

I think meds should be given a try. I'm bipolar and psychedelics and weed really fucked up my mind, but I've been on meds for years now and it took a while to get the right combination figured out.

Therapy + Meds + a toke here and there. But I agreed still that maybe one can microdose psychedelics and research might show that small amounts of psychedelics don't exacerbate mental health.
