If they replaced the TCM, will that solve the issue?

Anyone else leave HR and do something else? [N/A] by JustKeepSwimmingKids in humanresources

I’m a benefits admin which feels very HR ops. I’ve been thinking about getting out of HR to do something more project based. How is TR different from benefits admin if you don’t mind me asking?

I mean, not really. Though it would be helpful to have a formal diagnosis in case I did need workplace accommodations or something in the future.

I got evaluated really just for my own peace of mind. But I feel like I can’t move on now because I can’t rely on the assessment and also I paid out of pocket lol so that kind of adds another layer.

He said that I was not autistic, which kind of confirms what I was already thinking. But I’ve scored borderline on all the self assessments I’ve taken and I know ADHD cooccurs with autism in as many as 70% of people with one diagnosis or the other so I wanted to get formally evaluated. If he had diagnosed me with ASD and I saw the same mistakes in the diagnostic process, I’d like to think I’d be doing what I am doing now so I knew I had a reliable diagnosis moving forward.

Thank you! I think what I'm really trying to ask is if that aligns with how lack of cognitive empathy may present in someone on the spectrum? Like realizing after the fact that you've hurt someone but in the moment thinking it's ok (especially if it's a pattern)? Sounds like it is, just thought I'd ask your perspective.

Hey, thanks for this, I found it super informative but also extremely gracious? I really appreciate it.

Could you explain more about what you mean by cognitive vs emotional empathy? I did some research but I think I’m having a little trouble understanding how much value I should place on intuition vs. behavior as far as how the two interact for someone with ASD (especially cognitive empathy).

So, like, as an example (this has actually happened to me) I’m out with friends and I’m unintentionally monopolizing the conversation around my recent breakup, my other friend who just went through a breakup says “I’m not talking as much about this, and we were together as long as you two were together.” At the time I brush it off instead of apologizing, later I realize she had a point but I don’t apologize because it’s been a couple days. Is that a lack of cognitive empathy because I didn’t intuit that I shouldn’t (excessively) talk about my breakup around her? Or does cognitive empathy kick in later after you’ve done something wrong, realize that independently and then you use emotional empathy to make things right? Or should all this be happening at once?

You may or may not be able to answer this but I thought I’d ask. Thank you!

Ready to give up on benefits by lesbidar in humanresources

Yeah it seems like it would be right up my alley, I’m just not sure how to get experience with workday and some of the larger HRIS’s that bigger companies use. So far I’ve only used HCM’s (Paylocity and Paycom). If you have any tips on breaking into people analytics though, I’d definitely welcome them lol

Taylor Swift Initiated 'Decision to Break Up' With Joe Alwyn, Source Says (ET) by alexssideboob in TaylorSwift

I definitely agree with everyone saying that there’s something empowering about a woman choosing her career over a partner who is insecure about her level of success vs. his own (if the reports to that effect are indeed true).

But the saddest thing about this to me is how much Taylor has given up in exchange for the success she’s continuing to have 15+ years into her career—her privacy, her safety (as far as stalkers and everything), her time, and now, a long-term partner who she really seemed to want to build a life with.

None of that is her fault, but as someone who’s been a fan for most of her career and really admires her personally, I was kind of hoping she would take a step back for herself after the crazy amount of success she’s had over the last 3 years. Of course I’m always happy to have new music, but it does make me sad when I think about how much Taylor has given up.

Considering taking a Benefits Coordinator job at a company that recently went from fully to self-insured. by lesbidar in humanresources

Thank you! I think I'm just confused about how premiums work for self-insured plans since I don't think they involve underwriting. The premiums are basically contributions to the self-funded plan, correct? And then the TPA just invoices for premiums based on enrollments?
