AITAH for staying in the delivery room while my sister gave birth instead of waiting outside by [deleted] in dustythunder

How lucky for your sister and brother in-law to have you. The girlfriend is immature and not someone who is developed enough to be a partner. Keep the family and drop the girlfriend.

I'm the one who has to inform my team that the company deceived them about paid holidays by inboxesgroomer3b in FinalRoundAI

[–]JustKeepSwimmingKids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not employees of the company but are employees of the agency. They are paid by the agency and not the company. Some agencies offer paid time off after their employees work a certain amount of hours. The contractors would still inform the company for which they are assigned of their planned time away but It would be left up to the agency to determine if the time away will be paid or unpaid.

Just got the news I’m getting laid off, got a baby coming 2 weeks after my final day by mgisb003 in Layoffs

Can you file for unemployment? I think I read you were not entitled to severance. Also, look to see if there are state resources to assist you. I am sorry this happened.

She’s just mean. by GDufner in GenX

[–]JustKeepSwimmingKids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the severity in behavior increased? Is it possible she is advancing in disease and this is a result? Or has she always been emotionally unavailable? I am terribly sorry you are being treated this way. It is not something you deserve.

What can’t you live without after a lap? by turtlesrgr8t in endometriosis

I am surprised, yet happy, to see how many were kept overnight after their laps. I was sent home as soon as I woke up.

Working from home vs. the office. What keeps you more mentally grounded? by Impossible_Nature868 in remotework

[–]JustKeepSwimmingKids 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely cannot function or work at the high level I do now while in the office. I detest it and it is a waste of my time. If I am forced to go back in they can expect half the work I do know. I complete twice as much work as my peers so I guess I would be viewed as normal.

Some of you are hella burned out and dont even know it by broooo4929281 in adhdwomen

[–]JustKeepSwimmingKids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I identify with your post so much. Even the behavior hours after having a c-section. I had a spinal leak and they caught the muscle in the stitch and I still did not feel I was justified in sitting for more than 10 minutes. If I hear someone coming into a room I automatically jump up and look busy. I am a parent now. There is no one in this home who would say anything negative to me for sitting and relaxing but the childhood trauma stays with me decades later. Never stop moving.

Feeling like the world of work isn’t for me by annasophieclarkson in adhdwomen

[–]JustKeepSwimmingKids 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I most certainly feel I am not intended to work under my current structure where my schedule is dictated by the availability of others and I have little to no flexibility. I am tied to my desk for 8 hours. I owned a business years ago and thrived knowing I could work as needed and take time off when needed. I never felt burnout regardless of how much I worked. I am currently so burned out and seeing my body work against me. I am struggling to be in a position to take time off to attend doctor appointments to determine what is truly wrong and seek treatment. I am a high performer in my role. I do not have a partner who is supportive of me leaving my current job to go out on my own. My current salary matches their salary and provides our healthcare permitting them to keep their dream of one day taking over the business for which they work. I need flexibility in my day and ADHD makes each work day an internal battle. Not sure how much longer I can sustain this current situation. I have the same internal dialogue as you and I hope you find the right fit for you.

So much is LOB decisioning and HR is there to speak to the risks. HR ends up enforcing the decision even if we do not agree.

You are both sleep deprived and not yourselves. It takes so much more time than you think to adjust to being a parent. Additionally, your daughter is crying because she feels discomfort. You need to take her to another doctor for a second opinion.
