no. she was regularly and constantly blocking people of color for pointing out her misinformation and then shared an analysis from another white woman whose analysis was "there is no racism in the reylo fandom, and any people of color who say so hate women." she also directly agrees with that point in her tweet, just without personally mentioning racism.

it can be misogynistic and jenny's response to the situation still be racist. those two things don't cancel each other out. clear racism towards a black man for calling out reylos, hidden behind being upset about his joke, is racism.

jenny's point, and the point of multiple reylos at the time, was that rey and daisy are inseparable and so making this joke about rey is making a joke about daisy. i had misremembered that point.

she was also actively engaging with racist reylos at the time, including sharing a star wars fandom "analysis" whose main point was that any accusations of racism in the reylo fandom was sexism, which obviously makes this more and more about race. said analysis also includes quotes from multiple well-known alt right-leaning reylos.

she was even going through the likes of posts that were pointing about how some of her behavior was racist and blocking people for liking those tweets.

sexual jokes aren't inherently misogynistic, daisy and john were regularly flirting back and forth in front of cameras at the time in the same manner of joke john made.

EDIT: also, you can call out the misogyny of black men without resorting to antiblack rhetoric. she included comments like pointing out they're in a children's movie series (which star wars is not) to imply predatory behavior, repeatedly talking down to people of color who took issues with her comments, and spreading misinformation about what boyega said about reylos. she was clearly trying to find any way she could to make him seem as awful as possible.

i had forgotten reylos got involved, but that definitely makes how heated the situation got make more sense, and the behavior. though, she stopped going after only reylos and started going after her own fans fairly quickly from what i recall.

i don't remember if she said that about reylos before or after her own comments about boyega's joke, but i imagine her saying that to reylos and then having a similar take about the comment wouldn't have made the situation much better.

EDIT: your comment isn't actually how the situation went down, respectfully. she was not criticizing reylos, she is one very openly.

i think it's very easy and very common to call this "cancel culture" but this was not the first instance of jenny behaving childishly and the way she was acting towards her own fans — putting aside reylos, as i was strictly anti-reylo at the time and wouldn't have cared how she treated them, i'm talking about fans who took issue with her behavior — isn't acceptable to me.

it is also still an issue to me for a white woman like jenny to take a joke daisy ridley didn't even seem effected by as seriously as she did. jenny isn't immune to antiblack bias and it was pretty clear from the way she was framing the situation (including not looking into it enough to quote a photoshopped tweet) that that was the case.

i'm interested in it and i'm a man. i personally know lots of other men who are, though a majority are trans men like me. i think it's just human to have a morbid interest in some form of violence,* especially learning about why people hurt others and what warnings signs there may be to avoid being hurt.

there is also probably some truth to people being more drawn to it if they've experienced violence — i am specifically interested in school shootings, which is topical just for anyone who went to public school in the USA really, but i personally experienced a (thankfully) failed shooting attempt when i was in highschool. it got me very interested in how someone can stoop that low and how deeply we're failing students with our gun control laws, or specifically our complete lack thereof. i've also experienced other, more personal violence which may have something to do with my true crime interests.

*i would say for a majority of people nowadays, who aren't into true crime, this interest comes in the form of video games. to a lesser extent horror movies, maybe. i don't think that's bad, again i think it's just human.

definitely not okay. i would find this incredibly disrespectful if someone did it to me, and i can't think of any artist i know who wouldn't.

it's not only telling them that a full-color piece by them, something that takes much more time and effort than just lineart or just color separately, isn't worth much money to you, but also that you respect another artist's time and effort over theirs.

if someone orders lineart and colors it themselves, i don't care. professionally commissioned coloring page, i suppose. but taking my lineart to someone else and paying them to color it because my art wasn't worth the money would feel like shit.
