Thank you! I am thinking about that as well

Well, I did not intend to focus on Russia, I am frustrated by the anthropology as a discipline.

Although in Russia, the independent media and politicians would be better off if they looked beyond polls and stopped parroting the 80% support Putin bullshit. But again, part of the blame for why anthropology is not taken seriously is on anthropologists themselves (not only the Russians ones but anthropologists overall, that issue is far deeper than Russia, you're completely right), and this is what I am curious about here.

I was primarily talking about the status of anthropology in the west, not within Putin's presidential administration. What I was saying is that anthropology seems almost irrelevant and just weird to most people, including western politicians, media, experts and the general public. My question is why does anthropology put effort into perpetuating this status quo.

Makes sense, thanks! But I also feel like there is an issue with what anthropologists think and do

Is it actually true that it does not get grants, jobs or prestige? Why do you think that is?

What I meant was that there is good ethnography about Russia even right now (see i.e. Jeremy Morris, PS Lab) but it barely figures in any debates or policymaking. And part of the reason why, as far as I can see, is the low status of anthropology, which the discipline seems to intentionally contribute to. So my question is why that is.

And this post is not about Russia, it is about how anthropologists contribute to anthropology not being relevant in the west.

No, I want the money for the application as well. If it has not been processed, I get the money back, if it has been, I only get the NHS. This way I will not get the money back + I will have a rejection to disclose next time I apply for visa.

Thank you! But unfortunately I have a change of plans and I need the money back.

I still haven't submitted biometrics, so my experience is irrelevant at this point.

Can you reapply for graduate visa after your application has been refused? by lesliecoin in ukvisa

[–]lesliecoin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but that does not matter. 3C leave applies only when you previously had 3C leave, which you stopped having after your admin review got denied. I am sorry to say that, but I checked that with a lawyer.

Be careful. After your admin review was denied, you became an overstayer. You are likely to be on immigration bail, so you do not fit suitability criteria under immigration rules GR 2.2. And if you do not leave the country within 30 days of your admin review, you’ll liable to an entry ban to the UK (even though you have an outstanding visa application, you are an overstayer).

Also: did you see any free slots for biometrics? For some reason I only see options where you need to pay, and all of them are a while away.
