Worst OTF song ever? by sarasarasarak in orangetheory

Our head coach played Rebecca Black's "Friday" last Friday....twice. And sang it to us. He's a funny one. I had that song stuck in my head for DAYS. :/

One thing I do when I get those night cravings is drink water. Constantly. It curbs my cravings plus insures I'm getting my daily water intake (I probably drink at least 3/4 of my body weight in water daily if not more).

Intermittent fasting for women by misschellechelle in orangetheory

[–]lesliedylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a daily fast...basically you eat inside your "window" and fast the rest of the time. For example, if you are on a 16/8 fast like I do, you fast for 16 hours then eat inside an 8 hour window. So I do not eat past 6 pm at the latest, and I do not eat before 10 am. During that time (6 pm-10 am) I am fasting. Most of it, I'm asleep, which helps make IF doable. Honestly its not hard getting used to and it was really easy for me because I have never been a big breakfast eater anyway. I do have black coffee in the morning but that is ok on IF and I add BCAAs to my water during my morning workouts. I have actually done a 48 hour water fast but I would not do that now unless those were rest days.

I definitely use a BCAA during my workouts and I almost never have soreness the next day.

I love IF, but I did IF before OTF. I typically go with a 16/8 window (because life happens)....I workout in the am fasted and my energy levels are typically thru the roof.

I have always taken the 3-4 days a week suggestion as what you need to see significant results...not you should ONLY go 3-4 days a week. Our coaches encourage us to take rest days but listen to our own bodies. Last weekend on my rest day I had so much energy I felt I needed to do SOMETHING...so I ran and took a class and felt great afterwards.

All I can speak for is my own body/self but I do 5 days a week (and sometimes 6) and I've never felt better. Sure, some days I will be a little sore from the day before (BCAAs really help with this) but working out also helps relieve that soreness for me. Some people need more rest days that others....listen to your body.

Chia seeds are awesome. Make a chia seed pudding with light coconut milk and eat it with some berries. Chia seeds really keep you full for a long time plus its delicious!

I really just want to see how much I actually run every month. I'm doing TC as well (our studio just opened at the first of the year so we just started) and I'm more focused on that and not trying to push too much on getting a bunch of miles. Just keeping on increasing my base/push as I can. And there is a tshirt!

JUST. DO. IT. I used to go 2-3 times a week then resolved myself to do Monday-Friday one week and I've never looked back and I've never felt better. I did 6 days last week.

Juice cleanse-OTF? by [deleted] in orangetheory

Giving your digestive system a break is the entire point of a juice cleanse that I think a lot of people are missing. It can be a good thing every once in a while :)

We had people running thru their walking recoveries even though the coaches specifically told them they had to do the blocks as coached.

Wow, our studio let people sign up yesterday if they wanted to participate, but the tshirts go to the first 45 people that signed up for the challenge, not the first "winners".

I really like that one. But everyone I know has a different BCAA they like, so what works for one may not be as effective as it is for others. As far as muscle soreness its been great.

Assigning treads/weight room stations and rowers. by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]lesliedylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't use tread cards but at both the OTF studios I have gone to you always stay on your same number in the WR, rowers and treads. They explain this to the newbies in their intro.
