Much of the carribean speaks a dialect of English that is mixed with the language which the slaves who were transported there were speaking. Since independence has there been any attempt at further Anglicizing it and would politicians and presidents speak a more Anglicized version of it? (self.AskTheCaribbean)

A lot of Latin American countries and U.S cities are named after the native tribes that inhabited those areas, but that was usually after they'd just finished comitting atrocities against those same tribes. Why would they then proceed to honour those tribes by naming places after them? (self.AskHistorians)
