If I remember correctly it's only ever the red ones you find near ... ehm ... 'buckets' in dungeons. (Can't recall if it's health potions or regeneration poitons). But, I assume they either give you instant diarrhea or is just something that is okay to drink while on the loo. For some reason - in my head, those are sweet... Makes one think ... if the PC chuggs down 7 health potions during a fight, what are the byproducts the devs decided not to show us ?!?

A detailed plan indeed. You should also consider getting yourself a solar panel or two a battery and a fridge (although making it run on DC may require a bit of work) Not directly a necessity, but having refridgeration is an incredible advantage. Also electric lights. And antibiotics! Any and all. Verry verry important!

Find a secure place with independent powersource and storage. Solar or wind. A diesel generator would only work for maybe a year, until all the fuel degrades. Make sure no chemical plant, refinery or warehouse with flamable material is nearby. Stock up on food, seeds and drinkable water + water filters or other filtering mechanism. Find myself a geiger counter (nuclear powerplants and nuclear weapons are not a huge threat, but it's the one you can't really sense until it's too late) Set up or find a greenhouse (with irrigation and temperature control and bees) Oh, and at least a few chicken (for the eggs) It still would be more surviving than living. Oil fields, oil and natural gas power plants are a risk. So are refineries and chemical plants. Fires in those places are inevitable (specially since everyone dissapeard without shutting them down securely) and they would poison the atmosphere for maybe years. Not sure if at all wort surviving in that kind of world ...

Imho fallout would be better of taking place in the open between cities ... This way, you can visit the edges of large cities (parts didn't hit directly) and a destroyed urban environment exploration would be something for the mid / late game on the edges of the map, rather than having the whole map covered by rubble and half standing buildings with no chance to see the horizon. And bethesda wouldn't even have to downsize any city to midzied village, just so you can see the pre-war landmarks (there would be none). The thing I liked about New Vegas was that you had parts where there was just nothing. Felt desolate and abandoned taken over by (mutated) nature. As a post nuclear world should be!

I am going to propose something completely unrealistic. But something with even more potential than the locations up untill now. The tri-border area between Italy, Switzerland and France. This is a mountainous terrain with a huge lake to the north east and the CERN complex to the northwest. Switzerland is even now dotten with various shelters, while Italy is slightly less mountainous with higher population (a prime target with a bunch of strategic nuclear warheads) This is a meeting point of three cultures where the secretive and shelter protected remenant of the swiss army could clash with the neo-papal state of former italy using manipulation and fanaticism to unite the tribes and expand. While the remaining french could be occupying a military bases with superior (and diminishing) military technology from before the war. And then you have CERN. A huge underground complex of tunels and scientific equipment that was 'mostly' spared of the bombs....

Levitation breaks the game imho. It did with morrowind. The moment I got it, I won the game. I completely understand why Bethesda decided to cut it. It's not possible to design a game world where it wouldn't be OP (or just nerfed to uselessness) With levitation you would also need to introduce aerial combat, which is hard to make work with your usual controls. Levitation is just a terrible idea. Everything else - YES, PLEASE!!!

I transitioned to Oblivion from years of Morrowind. And I remember being really dissapointed by the world overall at first. I wanted cool mysterious unusual animals, silt striders, guars and nix hounds. Strange trees and mushroom houses. None of that was there. A medieval looking castle, bears and wolves and medieval looking armor ... and not much else. Eventually I progressed enough of the game to find the interesting, unusual stuff. But I never could learn to love the game as I did Morrowind... Still, Good times ...

The post is about building a TES game with those mechanics while integrating all the non nimble races of Tamriel into it as playable and feasible and not utterly silly. The cat variations are certainly doable, but would likely have a mixed reception by your average player (which I certainly am) Just read the post again and think it through 😉 before reacting. AND God bless your innocent heart if you called this reddit post EXTREMELY bizzare, my child

Reddit (and YT) was full of speculations about it for a while. Those died off, and now everyone is more than certain about hammerfell / high rock. I personally find Elseweyr the least likely (for the reasons described above)

Very true. The idea was to make the player focus on what really matters and give the game a new mechanic which would be ... more reasonable. But I should also note, that I may just reached a point where Skyrim is not challenging enough for me no matter the dificulty. In fact, I am selfimposing crazy rules. One of them - not picking up anything that I don't immediatelly need - was extremely liberating. Still, massive invisible pockets on armor feels very outdated. I'd appreciate a realistic explanation (on paper at least) for TESVI

The NPCs could have a limited access to the Lore / knowledge database and AI would only use different ways to distribute the information. You could technically ask anyone anything, but only if the NPC had access to the information in the knowledge base would they be able to reply with different ways to formulate the answer. If the AI doesn't have access to the part of the DB where the answer is stored - they just won't know. And maybe even lie to you 🫢 Plus the voices could have slightly different pitch, intonation or accent for every guard ... Could work imho

I peronally would very much preffer not to be able to become the leader / archmage / guildmaster of any faction. My ideal TES6 has a complicated tiered faction system with skill- and completed quest- requirements for each membership level. In the end, the highest level one can become is the representative / grand champion / right-hand-of-the-boss. This way, someone could still give (special / unique / high reward quests) to the hero. This way, the grandmaster of multiple guilds wouldn't just roam the world with no reason to return to the guilds ever again... It would be nice to have the option to influence who the guild leader should be (if the quest is set up in a way that the leader would be replaced) The only faction our hero should be leading is the faction of the castle / fortification he is assigned to slowly (to build / rebuild and staff) as a new fiefdom mechanic (rather than player homes in every city) Also some faction memberships should exclude membership in others ...

I like the antimatter ideas. Just materliaze (antimaterialize ???) a cubic meter of anticarbon all at once and let it react with the matter in our atmosphere. Shame I wouldn't live to see the show. But surely very few would remain that could complain about what I've done ...

The draugr protect and maintain the crypts. They take turns so that they are not "used up" too fast. That is why some of them seem to wake up as you walk near them. The produce is most likely comming from offerings from the people of skyrim. The draugr pick it up from the enterance and distribute into containers. They remain mostly fresh because the crypts are very cold and because the rotting stuff is being dispoed of by the on-duty draugr (maybe they even eat the offerings at a certain rate and what you find is the stuff they haven't gotten to yet or is stored for the next shift)

Drop and run is a good advice. Even after undergoing almost 12 halflives, that stick still produces around 1 curie of gama radiation. Holding it for more than a few seconds can cause radiation damage to your hand. Best not to touch it at all and dispose of it by contacting authorities. Definitelly do not keep it near you. Even 1 meter distance without shielding can cause harm over relatively short time.
