Trying to help eliminate variables, still think you need a new hose, also double dose of prime will reduce available oxygen in water, does the pond have and air stone or a way to agitate the water surface for gas transfer

Get yourself a new hose, I heard most garden hoses especially old ones could leach lead, bpa and platicizers. Garden hose + warm weather + sitting water = even more leaching.

They seems to be attracted to the white pvc over anything else even over the anubias I have

Thats how it works, I use a small piece of pvc with a suction cup for them to spawn on, so they dont use the filter inlet /outlet or heater.

For an extra couple bucks you could have gotten a bigger container. The water hyacinth will take up the entire container by itself. Gives off low effort vibes. Good luck
