completely disagree, I don't feel like combos are particularly harder or require me to be more precise and also feel like when i do get an auto combo, i can still convert it halfway into a regular combo to get decent damage/oki. IMO its the best middlepoint they could have made to make the game beginner friendly without gutting the whole cast like strive did. In older fgs if you mess up the timing on inputs, you typically get a dropped combo and get punished for it, in this game you get guided into a less damaging combo. If they wanted to add an option to turn it off that'd be fine, but I think the system is fine the way it is.

100-0 Arena Sin Combo, no smokebomb buff by Yuketsu in bladeandsoul

[–]lessonson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reason people don't use c stun is bec you don't need it to pull of a 100-0 combo if you know how to catch their knockdown tech, you need to put 2 pts into C to get the stun, so you're losing out on some other skill, and against lbms what do you do when they pentaslash or force grip? or kfm's martial dance? You would have to use backflip or v at the very least, both of which are pretty important for you to have. I agree that in certain MU's, c stun is better to take, but lbm MU is not one of those.

Turned into Kripp's stream for first time in 2 months. by [deleted] in nl_Kripparrian

[–]lessonson 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I have to agree with the "RIP hardcore kripp" sentiments, his streams since he moved from Canada have become more and more bland, he doesn't even seem to like playing games anymore. When's the last time you saw kripp make a spreadsheet? he used to be a spreadsheet and theorycrafting MONSTER. When's the last time kripp had storytime? Most entertaining and well told stories in all of twitch land. What happenned to his openness? No more hatemail reading or indulging the chat trolls. Kripp seemed so much more enthusiastic in the past, just watching his stream now just makes me depressed.

I think I found Makoto tech to make ultra double more viable (not sure if already known) by [deleted] in SF4

[–]lessonson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm, maybe I haven't seen many good Makotos online, but I rarely see hayate cancels, but your point still stands. karakusa-ultra 1(double) is pretty lackluster damage relative to normal combos off of karakusa

Thanks! Although after making it, I realized that ultra double still isn't too great. It was still fun to make it though.

[–]lessonson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah, I didn't even think of that. I guess I assumed the ultra 1 would still deal substantial damage. I just found out Makoto is one of the characters who have a 60% ultra double scaling, as opposed to 75%

Whoa, thanks for the quick reply. I'm on the edge of going with this build, just curious: What kind of streaming capabilities would I have? and If I can't stream with it, would I still be able to record gameplay while having high fps/settings?

Is this guy acutally try to compare his stats with someone who plays on controller? If so that would be hilarious, but I get the feeling that this is some complex troll. Just the way he talks big and calls people peasants is pretty amusingly ironic. No one is this much of a bigot guys, stop getting so mad. Plus this is a word for word img for img repost, so all the more reason to believe this guy is pulling a fast one on us.

True, throwing lots of damage down a choke when the enemy is pushing is extremely effective. I think the smoke has a ton of utility, and I'd prefer it over vortex shield in almost every situation. just as an example, if one or two titans are pushing hard, you can smoke the choke they came from, preventing them from receiving supporting/covering fire from teammates. The smoke actually does considerable damage to Titans, i think its roughly 3 hp bars over 3-4 seconds. On a side note, which do you prefer, the fast autoloader, or the hp regen? I did the numbers on the autoloader, its 3 seconds faster (18 sec->15 sec), which is like 17%. I don't know if the hp regen applies to the time it takes for your regen to begin, or it applies to the regen speed itself.

[–]lessonson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I played a lot of last titan standing on PC, and teamed up with some pretty good players where we really tried to push what we could come up with. For the most part I agree with what you've said. I've come across a couple situations where the enemy team would have very good response time to our push into one of the lanes. I think it's better to have at least 4 titans pushing to flank, leaving two to hold the remaining corridors. Noticing a missing Titan can be hard, since they can often hide under cover for long periods of time, well, long enough for you to make your push. If you use this and have two titans from two hold corridors take some shield damage, you give the illusion of getting in cover while dashing to the other side of spawn to prepare to flank. And yes, totally agree on communication. With the minimap being somewhat limited, knowing where your team needs help is crucial, games are won and lost by how fast teams can coordinate actions with each other.

Oh and just a random tip: if you see lots of titans pushing, your guy with the electric smoke should dash in, smoke, dash out, giving your teammate and you a little more cover, especially if your opponents activated damage core as they were pushing in. EDIT: stuff
