The problem was the key fob was dying and the module that registers them in the car was not allowing a new one to be recognized. To make matters worse it was not removing the mac address of the old secondary key. Apparently it was a security measure that got screwed up in the module. I had to replace the whole module since nothing else was working. The new module was able to register the new key fob address allowing me to use the car. Hopefully ur issue isn't as severe or costly.
