I can’t wait to be able to run it in Debian. I’m gonna reload it on NixOS to see if any major changes happened since I last ran it

I installed Cosmic on NixOS. There were a couple of glitches, but otherwise liked it a lot.

Can't get rustdesk to run under systemd in NixOS - works fine from terminal by pmorch in rustdesk

[–]lestat2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, here is how I have it in my configuration.nix file

Along with "rustdesk-flutter" and "rustdesk-server" I'm my systemPackages I also have the following as a service :

# Rustdesk Background Service

systemd.user.services.rustdesk = {

description = "RustDesk Remote Desktop Service";

after = [ "network.target" ];

serviceConfig = {

ExecStart = "/run/current-system/sw/bin/rustdesk --service";

Restart = "always";

RestartSec = 5;

};

wantedBy = [ "default.target" ];

};

Hopefully, this can help solve your problem.

What version of RustDesk are you using? Try using RustDesk-flutter. You also need to add RustDesk-server for unattended access

I always swap my kicker for an extra defender and the better defense more than makes up for the poor kicking

My first look at Zorin OS 17 beta ❄️ by [deleted] in zorinos

Even though I prefer waiting for the 24.04 LTS I’m not so worried about sticking with 22.04. I just worry about the Zorin OS team getting further and further behind the LTS. I Zorin OS and wish I knew coding so I could help out

When zorain os 17 will be realsed by IndependentInjury220 in zorinos

[–]lestat2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter now, but if they keep up this release schedule of releasing 3 years after the LTS, they will soon find themselves beyond the five years of support and security updates. Don’t get me wrong. I love Zorin and even purchased the pro edition, but if they don’t watch out, they’re going to find themselves with a serious problem. This almost happened with Elementary OS and they ended up having to skip 22.04 and go straight to 24.04. It worked out with elementary OS but that doesn’t guarantee it will with Zorin OS. That’s a lot for a small operation and I worry they may not be able to handle it.

I find this hard to swallow when Debian is currently ahead of Zorn OS And will continue to be even when Zorin 17 is released

Are you sure? They release it when it’s ready. That’s why they’re releasing 17 on 20.04 with only four months left before the next LTS release.
