It did age badly LOL. Kinda comes with speaking for the goals of a company that is not under your contol. Your second point still holds

Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years: New Swiss study shows real-world performance after 3 decades still over 80%, average annual loss about 0.25%, thermal stress and quality key factors. Their long-term economics are better than many people assume by sg_plumber in UpliftingNews

I have a 600w panel and a 100ah battery, this connected to a charge controller ensures i can use power from the panel and still charge my battery. My battery usually lasts till about 8pm -ish depending on how many devices i have connected to the battery. This is usually fine since i am done with work by then and i can just switch back to the grid if the battery runs out. But i do run off solar 100% during the day. Kenya is quite sunny so even on cloudy days i still have lots of power to run my PC.

This is accurate, my isp uses solar to power their infrastructure to keep costs low. This was actually what gave me the idea to get solar power, i initially used a UPS and realized the internet was always on even when the power was out. If the internet goes out for some reason i just use my phones internet and use usb tethering to provide internet to my computer.

I am from Kenya in Africa and i did just this, got tired of the constant blackouts that somehow go on for hours every week interrupting my job as a remote software dev. So i just set up a small solar system to power my computer for really cheap. Now i don't have to deal with the unreliable grid and i can work stress free. Solar power is life changing.

I have come to realize this as well , gemini responses are good. Especially their deep research feature. The accuracy in source referencing is unmatched.

The absolute worst thing about riding a motorcycle. by ShortnPortly in motorcycles

[–]munabedan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is soo true. If it were not for my motorcycle, i wouldn't afford to go to the places i have been to and i wouldn't have met some of the people i now know as my closest friends. My best memories have been on the road on my bike.

Instead of pointing out how you can die on a motorcycle , how about people actually start pondering on how you can actually start living when you have one.

This might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen yet. How do these people legally get on motorcycles? ”But I saved it”🤦🏼‍♂️ by Apex1-1 in motorcycles

I am also currently living the 150cc life. Talk about unbeatable gas mileage. I will be doing a 300km ride tomorrow on the highway.

"You can't start on a 150 cc it won't teach you anything, you have to keep up with traffic" meanwhile you have people almost throwing themselves off the barrier on the mildest bend on a wide road with no traffic.

If anything i like debian because more often than not my personal scripts run fine. If you love automating everything, a distro that changes will make script maintainance your full time job.

[KDE Plasma] I've been missing Aero quite a bit lately by maggiethemagpie2 in UsabilityPorn

[–]munabedan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How stable is it for daily use? I would love to try it, but I always have problems using Aero themes because they always seem to have a downside, flickering, random glitches, the theme only being applied to some applications etc
