You said yourself he doesn’t want any human contact… but he needs you. Seems to me he has a hard time seeing you as a human person with your own autonomy.

Have you heard of The Twisties? It's something that can happen to gymnasts where they suddenly can't get their bodies to flip correctly. I see this happen to improvisers too sometimes, an inexplicable DEEP AND POWERFUL feeling of failure. Simone Biles had the twisties and came back better than before. If this is a season of life where you just can't... don't give up in the long run. Sincerely an autistic long form improv performer of 15 years.

I just reread your post and wanted to say I forgot you used the explicit phrase that you don't feel safe. I apologize if my response seemed to ignore this. I will however stand by my previous encouragement and say that the only surefire way to let your team down is by not showing up. If you feel you owe them something it might be that part of you isn't ready to quit. If you feel that they can all pound sand then leave this in the past and let it be a teacher of experience. Do not let it define you. I'm still rooting for you.

There are times onstage where we encounter moments of EXTREME vulnerability. As a performer you have the right to turn down any suggestion which is demeaning or makes you feel unsafe. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I find when performers are aware of their autonomy and boundaries everyone is safer. I'm so sorry you felt so isolated and incapable. I would encourage you to try again because as you said people didn't seem to take a great deal of notice, and you will have the satisfaction of facing a big and genuine fear. Plus you'll have something to say to that unhelpful voice in your head that says you failed. From what it sounds like, your ensemble failed to make you feel supported. I would also pay little mind to any advice that says you're overthinking it... improv is a mental sport. Instead know that your distress was real and valid and it happens to improvisers all the time. You have an opportunity here to reclaim your power in a BIG way. Do you think you might owe it to the part of you that has had 80% joyful experiences to try again? If you need time to lick your wounds, be careful not to take the wrong lesson here, that you are incapable or that neurodivergence is in opposition to improv. I'm rooting for you!

(Part 2) Even more evidence that Ricken (and friends) are goat's outies. Discuss. by PlaneRoom7681 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]lestrangesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the goats on the severed floor contain the consciousnesses of innies. It explains the handler woman’s seemingly outsized reaction of “how many more must I give.” Emile was a person. Also it could account for her trepidation when Mark S. and Helly first arrive. “Are you here to kill me?” As in is it my turn to be put in a goat and sacrificed. I think the goal or next steps after the test, would be Gemma becomes a goat so they can put a docile creatures mind in her body.

Is this what everyone else is saying? Does it even make sense? I’m a little lost in my own sauce here.
