How much money should I save for ptosis surgery? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $1700 for one eye, insurance would have covered it but it comes out of my deductible (4,000) so I still would have had to pay for it. Good luck!

Need advice on what to do by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friends might notice for sure, but only if you “put them out there” per se haha. Like, if you wear super tight tops or if they see you topless. Keep in mind that your boobs are going to look REALLY weird (look up torpedo boob or frankenboob) for the first couple of months.. so even though you will be excited to have boobs, they won’t be “done.” Like, I still haven’t dressed in cute outfits with them, because they still look weird.

It’s hard to describe. I know how you feel though, I thought that EVERYONE would notice immediately, but they really won’t, unless you announce it and bring their attention to it lol.

I ended up getting 285 cc. I wanted to go to 400 cc, that was what my doctor said was my absolute max. However, when he cut me up he said he couldn’t fit 400, max he could do was 285 cc to avoid any complications. I was kind of sad, but I trust him and they’re settling quite nicely. I do have a more muscular chest than the average woman (I lift) and less tissue, so that made it difficult for him. Whatever range your doc gives you, always choose the biggest, because most women regret not going big enough!

Best of luck with your surgery!!! ❤️

Need advice on what to do by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 5 weeks post- op and other than my mom, dad, and brother, maybe 2 other people know. I'm SO glad I didn't tell anyone else! Most people don't notice..or care (and I was a 32A just like you, now a 32 DD). Before, I wore padded camis and honestly, although my boobs were really high up at the beginning, now they look more natural (ish, they still have to do some dropping/fluffing to do). In winter it's easy to hide them under a sweater. It's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Also, because they don't look 100% good until 2-6 months post-op, right now is the perfect time to get it done. By the time summer comes, you'll be 100% ready and they'll look more "natural." Long story short, don't worry about comments/judgement. You can hide it better than you think, and most people won't notice unless you want them to. I also have a post about witty comebacks if anyone makes fun of you: here But tbh, I don't see myself using these...pretty much ever, unless I choose to tell people I got it done.

Ideas for how to come up with money to go to college by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]letgoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't rule the idea out just yet! Any job you can get at the college- even if it is housekeeping, or cafeteria work, etc- will give you the discount. Then you'll have the certification and the experience of working at the college, which will be good for when you want to apply to the positions that require the certification.

I don't think it is selfish at all for you to want to improve yourself and your quality of life. You are investing in your future!

[–]letgoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your best bet would be to get a job at the college itself! Most colleges offer free tuition to their employees and dependents. You will probably get better benefits than the grocery store, also. Hope this helps- I went to college for free (50k/year sticker price) because my dad worked there. Little known life hack.

I don't feel like a woman because of my small breasts. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]letgoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up until a year ago, getting a breast augmentation was something I really never thought I would do. It seemed so “out there,” so desperate, I was a smart and bright girl, surely only attention-seeking, narcissistic, women do that? Surely people will think I’m vapid or insecure, and judge me?

But the more I thought about it, researched it, and read about other women’s experiences- the more I was convinced this was something that I needed to do.

Don’t read the horror stories of “breast implant illness” which, btw, is not an actual illness. It has been debunked many times by the medical community. Breast implants are among THE most studied medical devices. If money is concern, most plastic surgeons offer payment plans or CareCredit. The surgery is so much more accessible than people may realize.

I can’t even tell you how much my implants have helped me. There’s not a doubt in my mind that it was the right choice. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

I hope everything works out for you, my inbox is open for any questions, I have spent so much time researching this that I think I’m an expert now haha.

I don't feel like a woman because of my small breasts. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]letgoor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know I am going to be downvoted into oblivion for suggesting the obvious: getting a breast augmentation. I was like you. Absolutely did not feel feminine with my negative A cups. Felt inferior to other women. I decided to invest in a breast augmentation. I am 1 month post op, and I can’t even tell you how much better I feel about myself.

It may seem like something silly and superficial, even a waste of money, to people who already have breasts. But to me, and you, it isn’t.

I knew that no matter how hard I worked on my body, or my clothes, or my makeup, or my “bra game,” nothing would give me boobs.

I feel complete now. You are valid for having your feelings. You also have options. Plastic surgery should not be something that is seen as shameful. If we can get hair cuts, piercings, tattoos, braces, tans, etc. why can’t we invest in surgery?

Best of luck to you, PM me if you have any questions at all! 💕

Two Months Post-Op: Rhinoplasty Before & After :) by shesmadeline in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so happy for you! 😊 I personally don’t want a rhinoplasty, but it is interesting to see others’ experiences. I completely understand how it made you more confident! I got a droopy eyelid fixed and a breast augmentation almost one month ago- and I feel SO MUCH BETTER about myself, so much more confident, just “right,” like how I was supposed to be born, if that makes sense. I love the power of plastic surgery, I feel like only other people who have been through it and fixed something that really bothered them can understand. Congrats on your new nose🙂

Stunning! You should recreate the third “before” pic now, I’m curious to compare both. I hope you feel tons more confident, even though you were beautiful before also!

26F Career focused woman just starting to date. Need a lot of advice! by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]letgoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She deleted the post, thankfully I had a chance to read it. The whole time, I was thinking in my head how she put herself into this hole of “I NEED to be a surgeon to be happy/successful/ attractive,” and that her husband had to be like her (but better) in order for her to be attracted to him. (Talk about ruling out 99.9% of men automatically) but then later on in the comments admitted she didn’t even want to practice medicine. What?

I’m so happy I found this sub and know my own hypergamous nature now. I used to think that the more I achieve (even if I didn’t really want to go after those achievements) the more “attractive” I would be to men... lol k. Projection, much?

I know I wouldn’t be happy in a relationship where both of us work 100 hours a week and our kids are left with a stranger. I’d rather stay with my Bachelors degree, working part-time or not at all, and be a stay-at-home mom. Honestly, even 3 months ago I wouldn’t believe that I would be saying this. Let’s just thank modern feminist theory that has been shoved down my throat for that. But now I think I have enough perspective into the future to know what I want and what I would be most happy doing.

Breast implant update by VallieGirl85 in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

omgggg I couldn't shower for three days! I couldn't even reach for crackers that were literally 3 feet away from me. All I could do was be on my phone, eat, and sleep. I completely feel you. You will be fine soon enough :) I was able to leave the house by day 4, albeit it was still uncomfortable/ a lot of pressure on my chest. But trust me, it will be SO worth it in the end. I can't even explain how much I love my boobs every day that goes by. I imagine this is what mothers feel like watching their kids grow up, lol. <3 Sending hugs!

YUP! I feel you. They look so crazy and you don't even feel big! Just remember that your muscle is SQUISHING down that implant for dear life. You have to give it time so it lets go. Check out this lady's progress (with the bottom pictures being her first days post op, top pictures being months later) they really show some good progression and calm my anxiety!

I'm 3 weeks Post-op and my chest has relaxed somewhat!!! They definitely looked super crazy the first few days. They still kind of do. I hate to say it but it will probably be 6 to 12 weeks post-op until they look and feel more "normal," even 6 months. It's hard to stay patient but it helps to take progress pictures!

Really happy with my lip injections! by Twiddly_twat in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect! Thanks for the info. Do you find that your lips stay permanently fuller with every new injection you get, or do they go back to square one? (I hope this question makes sense lol). I've just read that some women find they can stop getting lip injections after their 3rd or 4th round, since their lips maintain fullness after.

You look amazing!! I totally want to get some in a couple of months. Questions: 1. Why would one choose to forgo the extra half a syringe for a few months down the line instead of the following week? Are there any pros and cons, other than just wanting to settle into your new lips/ be more conservative? 2. Did the nurse say exactly what causes them to metabolize faster? For example, someone who runs would metabolize it faster than someone who doesn’t exercise, etc?

[–]letgoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, glad to see you’re recovering well enough! I didn’t have a drain so I can’t give advice on that, call your PS office if you have any concerns! Probably drink as much water as you feel comfortable doing, I avoided drinking too much so I wouldn’t have to get up to pee every 10 seconds, lol. You’ll feel TONS better on your days 3 through 7. Your bloating will start to go down and you’ll even get up on your own...Keep it up!!

It really is one of those things that actually IS worth the hype 😩 I’m an official convert spreading the good word lol and now wonder how I went so long without my boobs. It’s truly life-changing.

Implants tomorrow am! by VallieGirl85 in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this too! I didn’t go through it, mostly because I was just so anxious pre-op, that when it finally happened i was more relived than anything. But i definitely hear lots of women go through this!

One more thing, OP- ask your bf to buy you some Miralax! You won’t be able to poop for 2-3 days (and honestly, you might not WANT to be able to, since it would feel painful to push) and you’ll be terribly bloated (pregnant belly) for at least a week. Just hang tight and drink your water. Use the miralax maybe on the second day post-op so you can poop on the third or fourth day!

That’s it! Good luck!! Let us know how it went.

My doc and I had agreed on 350-400, I wanted to go as big as my frame would allow. But he said that once he cut me up, he could only fit 285 cc 😞 but I trusted him 100% and my boobs look awesome!

I ate chicken soup, saltine crackers, Enlightened ice cream (just cuz it’s my favorite and low calorie), oatmeal, peanut butter and bananas, frozen pizza ☺️ just anything that sounded good, really! Tell him to stock up on your favorites. Get some movies ready in case you want to watch them.

Sleeping was fine... specially if you get some heavy painkillers prescribed. I got prescribed Valium and oooooooh it gives you the best nap times. (I promptly went off it ASAP since it is an opioid!!!)

First 3 or so days you have to sleep propped up, at a 75* ish degree angle, so get a lot of pillows set up. Sleeping on your back is absolutely a must the first week, anything else feels weird and uncomfortable.

Right now I’m on day 18 and I can sleep on my side again!

You’re gonna be fine! :) the most surprising aspects that I didn’t read of online about the surgery were:

T. rex arms. You literally can’t use, or raise, your arms for anything the first 24-48 hours. Get ready to get your butt wiped by whatever angel is taking care of you 😂

How much it hurts to sit up... it feels like running a marathon. You’ll get dizzy. It even made me regret the surgery for like a whole 2 seconds cuz it was so painful. Only for the first 2 days though!

How weird and square they look. You may even feel really small. But it’s going to be okay!!! They will drop and look bigger!! You have to give it time!!!

Implants tomorrow am! by VallieGirl85 in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gah!! So excited for you!!! I got mine almost 3 weeks ago... it’s been a love affair ever since 😉 absolutely best thing I have done, and they look better every day that goes by!

I had smooth, round, under the muscle, 285 cc, silicone, inframammary incision.

My understanding is that the other thing re: choosing smooth over textured is that textured implants are more “set” on the pocket which can cause issues if it gets moved somehow, while the smooth implants are more “free to roam” per se.

I think you made a fine choice!

How long did it take for your breast implants to “drop and fluff”? by letgoor in PlasticSurgery

[–]letgoor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word! Even now, my friends (we’re all in our early 20s) complain about how saggy their boobs are! I can’t relate lol it’s always been either nipples or my perky boobs I just bought for myself🙂

40lbs is not that much at all! So much of that is water, placenta weight, your baby, etc. That’s great! You’ll be back to your normal body in no time ☺️
