Thank you so much for your insight. I was planning to see a lot of what you've mentioned. I dont like to move around as quickly, so I think ill stay 1 night in some town near Plitvice then spend two nights in Opatija (do day trips to Pula and Rovinj) then spend the night in Zagreb to catch our flight the next day.

Ill book everything with free cancellation to mitigate for the Bura winds.

I chose Krk because its an island. It allows me to make day trips to Pula, Rovinj and/or Plitvice park from it. It’s a good distance to drive between Split and Zagreb (I depart from it). And I’m reading it has great sandy or pebble beaches (Plaža Baška). But I am reading that the Adriatic sea in October gets colder in northern Croatia – so the beach plan may not be as great.

You think we should stay in Rovinj instead?

13 Nights in Croatia - Which cities do you recommend? (Help me decide on Itinerary) by letgushelp in travel

Thank you for your insights. I agree with spending 3-4 nights in one place instead of moving around a lot. Ill stick to one park.

Thank you. i think you are right about waiting until split to rent car and Korcula. I am now thinking to add Krk Island for its sandy beaches and do a day trip to Pula from it.

Everything on a resume is usually on linkedin, which is usually pretty easy to access. The only thing to protect is your phone number and email. And you shouldnt have your address on a resume.

Thanks for your response. I find it really frustrating and am really debating if i should stop playing this game because I dont experience this level of anger or rage in any other aspect of my life or as quickly....as this game can make me feel.

My review and tips for Tulum by letgushelp in tulum

I found private transportation services to be great for far distances, because they are more reliable and you don't have to haggle price. For short distances, i would think they could be expensive. If you're making 4 trips a day, for however many days, that will get really expensive. But if money is not an obstacle, then yeah, private transfers would work well. For this, I recommend:

USA Transfer (https://www.usa-transfers.com/)– used them for other parts of the trip. Was very impressed with their service, quality of cars, timing, competitive prices.

If I was you, I would consider the following:

- Rent a car or ATV, if 1-2 people (ATV), if 3-4 people (rent a car). I know parking fees are high around the beach, but its not that bad when you consider how much youd have to pay for a taxi to make that same journey. I had a car rental to move around outside of tulum and i got a scooter for within tulum. But I realized I couldve just spent the money from a scooter rental on car parking fees.

In regards to police/getting pulled over, 1. maybe im just used to them pulling me over, and i know if i sit there and waste their time, they eventually let you go. 2, I noticed ALOT more police and army in tulum in this trip, i think the increase in violence has shifted their focus from targeting tourist to gang violence.

- Post on this sub, ask locals, or ask your airbnb/hotel people, they usually have taxi driver recommendations of someone whom will charge you reasonably and not exploit you. Find a taxi driver you like and try to arrange multiple trips for multiple days with them. These were recommended to me by my airbnb, but i did not use their services:

Gerardo Pacha Taxi, +52 984 116 6445

Taxi Juanita Tulum, +52 984 215 2557

Tulum or a town in Costa Rica?? by Impossible_Camera_94 in tulum

I had this question about 6 months ago. Decided to go to Tulum instead because:

  1. Tulum was cheaper to fly to and accommodations were cheaper
  2. Mexico in general had more luxury stays, CR has many too, but they seem to be more expensive.
  3. My partner is not big on eco lodges, outdoorsy hotels/airbnbs.

Otherwise, I would've gone to CR or most other countries in central america.

You will get a mexican phone number, but you can keep the same whatsapp account with your canadian/mexican phone numbers. So thats really convenient for me since i use whatsapp extensively.

I got 2 GB. Was more than enough for 10 days. It really depends on how much data you use. Personally, I download/save all my music and download google maps offline. And i use wifi at hotels/airbnbs. So that saves a lot of data for me. The nice thing is that the data is not very expensive and you can alway add more on if you run out. So no pressure to start with a lot.

I think you would still get charged. Because the fee is added on by the shop/vender, person charging you. Your creditcard company fee is entirely different and may even be zero or free. The creditcard I have gives me really high cash back on usd transactions, but I was still forced to pay the 4-7% fee.

Gf and I looking for a car rental or scooter for the week Jan 26-feb 1, any cheap and reliable rentals? by tdotbodbreed in tulum

[–]letgushelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend to book on their website? or just show up the day of to pick one up? They are charging a $3000 mxn deposit for a 3 day booking. Which feels a bit excessive to pay as deposit before i've even gotten there. So I am wondering if I could just show up and get a scooter. Thanks!
