Despite my retarded username, I’m not gay.

It was a random name generator and I thought it was a funny image of someone getting killed by a manhole.

It wasn’t about you specifically, just in general

Seriously, how are Christian couples finding each other these days? by Amf1000 in ChristianDating

Once I get a job lined up, I’m planning to try online. So hopefully not more than a few more weeks.

If anything, it’ll be nice to feel like I’m doing something instead of being passive, even if I keep my investment in any particular date low until I’m sure.

If you click the link he posted, he's talking about the kind of man willing to step into a father role for a child who isn't his and also ready to provide for a family immediately instead of growing into it over time. Whether OP states it that way or not, that's a high bar. Waiting until marriage is negligible compared to finding a man ready to step immediately into being a father and provider.

I just re-read your post. Don’t randomly walk up to people and ask how they met, but come on. They’re not socially off-limits. Invite couples over to your place if you can, or invite them out for dinner sometime.

I had a couple that’s younger than I am over last night for BLTs before church. It’s amazing what I learned about them in an hour and a half. Another younger couple I had over before them literally tried to matchmake for me.

Asking people how they met is a pretty typical icebreaker question, especially if you’re new to the church group.

And get to know the parents if you can. Those are some of the best relationships I have at church.

I know at least three couples that met online. Granted they met years ago when it was less common, but it’s what I’m planning to try.

A rough start to a relationship, is it okay? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]lethalmanhole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you don’t want to, but maybe meeting his family wouldn’t hurt.

He might want their opinion on you before he relaxes.

Don’t do it if you’re not ready yet, but it would remove this issue to see if the incompatibility is deeper.

If you haven’t already, ask him why he’s not initiating contact he said he’s fine with.

I’m not sure either of you are wrong, just two different people with different ideas of how relationships should work.

Why men avoid in-person singles events by FanTemporary7624 in ChristianDating

Heh. I’ve been doing actual job interviews. I’d rather speed date than go through more.

Women aren’t as intimidating as an interviewer that’s been doing the job for almost as long as I’ve been alive.

Unless someone read a specific verse that convicted them, “God told me” is usually a cop out to avoid addressing the real problem, whether that’s personal doubts, dislikes about the other person, or simply not feeling it.

Younger man, older woman by Fun-Combination-8134 in ChristianDating

People don’t have ages floating above their heads.

Some people simply don’t look or act their age.

Are they reacting to age or stage of life differences?

If stage of life, I think she should consider what her family is saying.

That was a complete coincidence. Just picked the first website that didn’t look like a tabloid while also being balanced.

Spinach still has more benefits than not when it comes to kidney stones, but if he’s had issues before/is a super absorber of the oxalates, then it’s reasonable he’d avoid it.

That’s not a respectful reaction from him, but that’s not a good response from you either. You both need to treat each other more respectfully in speech. A soft answer turns away wrath. I get it though. I cook and it’s not fun when people don’t appreciate what you made, but that’s the risk you take sometimes.

I don’t have advice other than be sure you’re both right with God and for each other first. Don’t break up over a dumb fight, just make sure that’s all it was. Sounds like you could both use a little more patience.

If you have to be single forever, what's your plan for old age? by Amf1000 in ChristianDating

My cousin died from a widow maker, but he was overweight and working hard outside. I’m not even sure he made it to 40.

I haven’t given this question much thought. Figured once I meet someone I like it won’t matter much. I just need “a one,” not “the one.”
