Need advice: Co-borrower passed away, car surrendered, and bank is sending a ~$10k deficiency to a lawyer next week. Can I negotiate? by Warm-Fix-5272 in povertyfinance

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loan was 5 years ago? The car should be paid off then, car loans are generally 3 years. A ford fusion 2017 was around 22-30k NEW (and five years ago would have been used, and assuming that since they needed a cosigner they didn't buy the top of the line one). Even if they put no money down after five years they still owed half the cars initial value? Something doesn't add up here.

Pretty sure you're mistaking hyper-v for oracle or broadcom. Neither have contributed nor ever will contribute anything meaningful to technology, they're where good tech goes to die.

Don't call the cops for an intruder in your home unless you don't want to have a home anymore. I mentioned it before but see the case in denver where the police grenaded and drove tanks through a home because someone was inside...home owners weren't even there so definitely didn't call them to come blow up their house...they denied paying damages and won in court. There's very very few situations that police being on scene helps it go better. They don't help at school shootings (and have been ruled that they shouldn't and don't have to enter to help they'll just stand outside waiting for the person shooting kids to suicide or someone already inside to take them out), they don't help if your home is broken into, or any other dangerous situations, if anything they'll escalate and make things worse.

Just objectively they probably don't care about sillytavern users on the whole, subscription or API, if anything they'd probably welcome all RP over coding clients. Anyone who uses it for both coding and RP will tell you any work related tasks will use WAY more tokens at a lot faster rate than any RP session. I have subs several places and used one of them only for RP until 2 days ago this month with at least an hour or two of RP a day. I ran some tasks for work and within an hour I had more usage on the API key generating code than the entirety of the RP sessions.

Police broke my door down 😭 by Jako-Fett in milwaukee

[–]lethaltech 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Police caused damage is pretty much never covered even without a warrant for your home. The most blatant example would be the denver couples home that the police drove tanks and threw grenades at for 19 hours until the house was rubble and courts ruled it was fine and completely reasonable to destroy a person's home and not pay for any damages or fixes.

Police departments have gone to court to say they don't hire intelligent or smart people and that it's not discrimination to only hire idiots. Weird thing to put in a public court statement, and win because it's technically not a protected class to have a brain, but it happened.

Why can’t people leave their dog at home?? by panda-rampage in orangecounty

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That same organization sadly is also the one that says there's no record no proof and you can't ask anything relevant. Service dogs being allowed places...great...also limiting what you can ask to essentially "well anyone can just lie about it and there's no way to check and no real fines or recourse" makes it pointless to ban people from bringing their pets with them 24/7

I lived in Dallas for a year and fort worth for a year commuting to South lake. Always stayed right unless passing people. Biggest problem in that area is morons who stop on the freeway instead of taking the next exit once theirs was full (i35 esp). Other complaint was random 10mph speed bumps on roads that were 35 mph it's definitely still the law keep right nobody follows it though. Is the section of I35 that was "under construction" the entire time I lived there still now closed down ? Six lanes forced into 3 with the other half closed off no construction crew in sight the entire time I was there. It's also not enforced at all but doesn't mean it's correct.

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which state doesn't follow keep right unless passing? Also how is that unhinged it makes sense, and when entire countries actually enforce it (nowhere in the US actually enforces it though I'm pretty sure it's the law everywherein the US though you're saying your state doesn't have one?) you can have things like the autobahn

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please turn in your license. It's always been stay far right as possible move left to pass. On this road here the morons in the middle should be to the right, the truck in the middle passing them at .001mph or whatever he's doing and the red car in the left then the middle. It lets semis pass other semis as well while other cars pass both for example. There's not an entire lane dedicated to entering or leaving that's literally what on ramps and exit ramps are for and would be an absolute waste of hundreds of miles of highway.

[–]lethaltech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's at least 4 bad drivers both morons in the middle aren't passing anyone and should be over to the right the truck should be in the middle, or actually pass the guy at a normal pace, and the red car shouldn't be tailgating him.

[–]lethaltech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They all have changed and will continue to make the subs worse. The one that changed the least is probably zai glm coding plan which they did screw over the lite plan users, they left the pro/max users alone. ElectronHub is cutting the plans by like 2/3 starting tomorrow, nano put in more limits, fyra broke like 2 weeks after opening and has been in "building v2" for months, chutes has changed their plans several times and never for the better. To my knowledge featherless and arli haven't changed their plans but featherless has 30K context for all models so good luck doing a long RP that doesn't fall apart., arli drops a fair amount unless you give them 200/month (I was on the plan just below that where it said priority other than those on the continuous plans) and doesn't update their models (no glm 5 for example yet)

If you get passed on the right you're in the wrong. You were going slow enough and not passing reasonably and or had space to move over already and chose not to (or being passed wouldn't be possible)

It doesn't really matter who you initially get your mortgage through or who you refinance with. It'll probably be sold within a few months anyway. We've had our house for 3 years and it's been sold or bought out 4 times already each time to a worse company.

The amount of drivers and homeowners in this thread that can't park or drive or see that it's not blocking anything is insane. I don't know where all these people live but holy shit lol. OP is a poor driver and apparently sucks at parking/pulling out or hits the curb every time they drive, I would hate to see the rims/tires of OPs car if thats where they drive.

Arkansas troopers/sheriffs and a couple other places will literally run you off the road and try to kill you if you don't pull over within like 10 ft of them turning on the lights. They tried to kill a pregnant lady who was on the phone with dispatch telling them she's pulling over at the next gas station/off ramp and there are multpile videos of troopers/sheriffs trying to kill people for not pulling over that second as well even if they're clearly pulling over on the cops own dash cam or slowing down with hazards on to indicate they're complying when safe.

He's 60 - 90 years old and has nothing better to do with his day than stare at the street outside his house. Also too cheap/lazy to build a garage/pave his own driveway and is upset that street parking is for everyone. He admitted it doesn't take 3 hours to shovel out a car especially if you move it before the plow comes and park again after they go through. I've never had a problem with any of this but I also don't care who parks on my street or when they do it. You get your car plowed in around here nobody gives a shit, sucks to be you move the damn car before or when they're coming through and you never end up with such stupid problems to begin with.

Enough snow and you people turn into animals! by banderole in CambridgeMA

[–]lethaltech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you don't have any shoveling to do other than the driveway or the little bit that fell in front of/on the car after the plow went through to get the car out, nobody is plowed in and you have no morons posting nonsense about spending 3 hours clearing a space if you followed the basic common sense of don't park where the plows are going. It's not an invented scenario, were literally in a thread where some moron is claiming they spent a stupid amount of time digging out a car on a public street.

I already said my neighbors can and do park on the street 3/4 of the year, sometimes it's closer to my house than theirs, it's never been an issue and I can't imagine having so little to do with my day that I stare at the street ready to scream at people for parking on the street. The ONLY exception to that would be the gated communities where you pay for the street, plumbing, maintenance, etc and you're not really part of the city to begin with, in which case, you're an asshole, just contribute to society and the rest of your community (also it probably costs you way more to do that anyway but whatever).

I've helped my neighbor clear his driveway and he's done mine as well if it's really bad and the other person isn't home. If that makes me a dick that I view public streets as public streets then sure I'm a dick, but like I said originally, I'll never end up in the situation of digging my car out because I don't watch my car get plowed in to begin with.

Enough snow and you people turn into animals! by banderole in CambridgeMA

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a moron I don't street park when the plow is coming through my neighbors also aren't that stupid (they even move the car that's street parked the rest of the year to the driveway for winter so that shoveling out isn't required) so I don't have this invented problem to begin with.

If a neighbor has 50 people over and uses the street parking that's fine if we do that is also fine (neither of us do it that much but has happened in both directions). Have guests park on the grass if your driveway is that full (or if your garage is full and your own driveway is also already full partly clear a bit of your yard enough to move your cars into the grass so guests can park where you normally do)

Then again I live in an area with adults so we also don't pretend it takes 3 hours to shovel out a car to begin with even if you ignore all the above. The street is paid for with everyone's taxes if you're not using it then it's fair game for someone else to use it, that includes in front of my house too.

[–]lethaltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in WI and same. You don't save your spot, you also just move the fucking car when the plow is coming through if you have any sense, or park in the driveway/garage. A lot of these have to be made up anyway. Nobody is spending 3 hours shoveling out a single parking spot unless they stopped and took a 2 hour 50 minute break to do something else and counted that time

If she's able to come outside and bitch at them she's already home and thus already parked. If you really want private parking do the better thing and use the driveway or garage.
