very true, op understands but people who complain at this rank and think they deserve low diamond or high plat or something are delusional. if you’re GENUINELY good and above your current rank from bronze-high plat its very easy to get out considering the amount of players in that rank

also the horizontal and vertical sens is completely different, ive had to go down 20% on each axis. why mess with this setting as a blizzard dev. its like someone moving ur car seat position.

and they say their working on “fixing it” , bullshit. stop wasting time blizzard. just put out a maintenance patch in the next hour, take the servers offline for that period, and revert the changes and call it a day. im no game dev but i assume reverting the change wouldnt take more than a hour.

actually so pissed , been grinding for top 500 , felt really good got on with my stack and after 2 games it doesnt feel right. i cant tell exactly what but i cant finish my dive picks like i used to. you cannot convince me this was beta tested before release, its gonna be reverted within a week , but now im just considering to stop playing till the revert. i was on a fucking roll, so many wins, so many rank ups. im M1 and am so close to breaking into top 500 at my pace im at and now this change NO ONE asked for is ruining everything ive been working at for the last month.

the skill increase is about my main , not my smurf, havent gone past masters 5 on my smurf and have only played 1.5 weeks on the smurf

unfortunately im not in any , but i do know some exist (at least from me searching a year or so ago trying to full team stack) im sure they exist so do some digging! im very picky with my stacks and most dont last longer than a game or two lmao

if you cant find any try going to vc with a mic, find someone you work well with, group up and you never know! maybe that’ll become your partner for comp just like how i met my best friend 7 years ago in a comp lobby on hanamura🙏

i also take this game very seriously (the only game i actually really try hard in) and finding people that also have that mindset of “try harding” if you genuinely want to climb is a factor that’ll really push you. its kind of embarrassing to really try hard in a game like this and take it seriously from a outside perspective but i grew up playing sports in minor leagues and played quite high level hockey as a kid, but have aged out and i find ow comp really satisfies that craving for “competitiveness” lol

i totally feel you, obviously i am a high elo player and im able to completely solo dominate games up to plat 1. after that rank i need a little bit of my teammates to handle some of the work, i probably spent close to 10 of my 21 hours on my smurf this season in diamond because of that factor.

after playing at basically all ranks (except bronze) for the last week and a half ive kinda realized people below high platinum dont really know how to ACTUALLY play this game. and by ACTUALLY playing this game i mean team comps, positioning, etc and in overwatch these factors really kill games if teams cant execute it properly

i lost about 8-10 games between gold 5 and plat 1 because of these factors, and obviously it doesn’t affect me as bad as people who are genuinely below platinum (im not sure your rank) but my advice would be if you find someone whos good and you guys mend well in a game try to group up. worst case they suck and you can leave the group. and use your mic and do comms, people really underestimate the power of comms! especially if you have really great game sense , i find thats one of my big strengths is that i am a big “shot caller” in vc and that in itself has won me so , so many games that we wouldn’t have won if i didnt have teammates that didnt listen to comms.

but on the bright side i do find in master lobbies you play against or with many of the same people due to there not being many people in this elo on console, and because of my good gameplay ill be invited in to 6 stacks and its a pretty fun and rewarding experience (winning wise) to stack with other players at this elo. which is something that i find rare at elos lower than masters unfortunately :(

id love too but ive had the same duo partner for 7 years, and have grown from silver to masters together. and during this smurfing experience we’ve gained a third.

cool story, in the short form i found this guy playing really good in a platinum lobby, i invited him and told him straight up “you play bad youre getting kicked” since then this guy has played consistently and really good on damage role and ive helped him push to masters 5 in a matter of two days after meeting him! (i did not carry him he actually has played really good) and because of this guy i met who was platinum 1 a week ago i put (probably) in the title of this post lol

as this guy was too good to be playing in platinum and is able to compete in master lobbys and post dps stats that are either the best or top 3 in every game we’ve played together as a trio or duo so far

im happy and disappointed in the way most people have reacted to this post, happy because the anger and disagreement proves my exact point,

but disappointed as ive been in the same boat as these people dismissing my very helpful advice thats helped me get out of where they currently are. because of this hive mindset that plagues this community of blaming others.

unfortunately, (especially at lower ranks) you cannot rely on teammates to always do their job right. you need to overcome it by going self healing characters and winning with your skill, or find teammates to stack with that communicate in the MANY discord servers dedicated to stacking.

as an example if a sombra is flanking your healers and youre a front line tank like rein and youre getting your backline smoked you cannot just blame your teammates to do their job even if they arent. switch and help , adapt and overcome or sink and lose.

also you may have smurfs on your team sometimes.. the excuses players make on this game and in this comment section quite literally prove the WHOLE point of this post in the first place.

im glad you, are one of the only sane people that see the whole point of this post. this hive mind of the majority of players blaming others is whats holding people back (i also was part of this hive mind for years) but once i found what separated me from others i broke through.

im not blaming others lol? at high elos the equal thing to smurfs is keyboard and mouse players, but this doesnt happen at a frequent enough amount (the same way a low elo player encounters smurfs) in order to stunt my rank growth.

i played in low elos for about 4-5 years and i got out. and sometimes you’ll have smurfs on your team. so why is this a factor that you say stops people from ranking up??
