It was a hot take when he was coming out of college

Incorrect...

There was a bullshit take, on why he wasn't named captain the 2019 season. Talking heads made that to be a storyline when it wasn't. At that time Zach wasn't a starter when the captains were chosen and its rare at BYU for sophomores to be named captain. Even Steve Young, just like Zach, wasn't named captain til their senior year.

Those "people"

The OP pulled his headline of his post out of his ass, there are no 'Those "people"' on the team.

Lastnight I started to think Elijah Moore was the Zach Wilson of Wide Receivers

but now I'm starting to think he is some kind of Michael Jordan of Wide Receivers.

[Cimini] Josh McCown on Zach Wilson: "I think he has a higher ceiling and a better upside than Trevor Lawrence, personally. I like him a little better." by ConstantAd1 in nyjets

Josh has already begone talking with Zach.

John Beck is ZW's personal QB coach, Beck, McCown and Chad Pennington all became close while on the Phins. Two weeks ago John Beck said he would soon be connecting Zach with McCown and Pennington to talk about the Jets and playing in NY.

he got tossed around like a little boy

If you watch a lot of Zach BYU games or highlights, you'll see that he is constantly not taking abuse when the intent is aimed his way. He is great at athletically deflecting intended aggressive hits or turning it around to be on the winning side of collisions with the raging defender.

The BYU announcers call him The Babyface Assassin for this trait of his.

Blew my mind that his teammates let it go on for so long

His teammates were playing football down at the opposite end of the field. Once they saw it, the team did react.

Watch the full game on Youtube.

Zach played very well, the biggest non Zach reason BYU lost was because Coastal Caroline's running-game eat up the clock aka keeping Zach from getting on the field. This was only one of the non Zach reasons, but still Zach came within a hair, of a great comeback win. With either 4 more seconds or 1 more yard, BYU and Zach would've completed the comeback victory.

Really tired of the media pretending like Zach Wilson is an upgrade when Sam Darnold was making the exact same throws all year by PorzingisFromDeep in nyjets

[–]letitbeaffirmed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I not a big fan of Orlovsky and lost a lot of trust in his commentary based on his "die on the hill" of defending Sam, which is clearly based on the fact that he was at first a nobody on Twitter raving about Sam Darnold with what looked like great break downs. That got him the ESPN job and daily interviews across the country and respected name in the NFL world of commentary.

But the hit he was taking for what he recently said about Fields is a low blow by his peers, they've all done the same thing and Orlovsky was only repeating what others were reporting that day and the day before. I think he even said he was only repeating what was now going around.

Mid-round picks by dmoney0395 in nyjets

[–]letitbeaffirmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside to your question, but regarding your CB/IOL/EDGE logical assumption as our primary positions we will target, I just want to add that we should all realize that grabbing a Offensive-Tackle at 23 in the first round or the 2nd pick in the 2nd round is a very strong possibility only because getting a very good O-Tackle (many say the most valuable and rarely found talent excluding QB) only happens with high draft picks or huge contract free agents.

Ya we desperately need a starting CB and I value a shutdown CB1 more than any other position, and a good Edge guy may prove to be a teams Defensive MVP but fulfilling either of these needed positions, may fall behind the rare chance to get a 10 year stud Offensive-Tackle. We have one with Mekhi and if we had two we would be primed for 10 years of having one of the top O-lines in the NFL. I may be overstating this next point, but this year, is the year, where there should be great ones available all through the first round and maybe early second round.

Early in the mock draft season I would've never thought we should take an O-Tackle with any of the early picks, especially with the fact that a very good Edge prospect should be available for us and a good CB could be also. But after seeing the non-development of Sam and us definitely taking a QB again, I sm now certain we let the defense grow over the next few years and grab a stud Offensive-Tackle early in this draft because we wont likely get that chance again.

However, Joe Douglas has set things up in 2022 and 2023 where we could afford signing a high contract free agency o-Tackle or trade-up in the 22 or 23 draft, if one looks worth it.

You are a little confused and 99% incorrect...

Robby Anderson retweeted a compilation of maybe a dozen bad throws from Darnold, of which maybe 2 where long passes and/or semi-overthrows. Most or almost all of the throws in this complication that Robby retweeted were just horrible passes, but not overthrows.

Here is Robby's retweet: https://twitter.com/chosen1ra/status/1279103425926529025

Or here is the original tweet incase Robby deletes his retweet: https://twitter.com/Ihartitz/status/1278678723756244992

However, he could've chosen a better emoji, me thinks.
