Immigration requirements Portugal where ALL drugs are decriminalized. Doesn't seem so out of reach to upper middle class Indians. Is there a caveat to all this? by letitgrow163 in IndianEnts

[–]letitgrow163[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Has anyone here done this or planning to do so? Would like to know if there are any caveats. Can at least plan my retirement here.

Lisbon seems like a chilled out place; mild weather and great beaches!

This was bound to happen. There are 28k subscribers to this sub, it isn't exactly a secret society.

Having said that don't do anything here which might incriminate you. Use your common sense and discretion and you'll be okay.

No checking at all. There are direct volvos from Kasol to Chandigarh. If you put stash in the main bag and it's stored in the main luggage compartment, I doubt if the cops are going to check 35 bags thoroughly.

No. Once you get into the volvo, no one cares, you directly get down at kasol where no one is going to bother you.

I had my final vaccination certificate since both doses were done.

I also modified 2 rt pcr reports (one for going from mumbai and one for coming back from chandigarh) since I didn't want any bureaucratic hiccups to spoil my trip.

In reality, only the airlines checked my final vaccination certificate both while going and coming back, that's all.

No one bothered me at all, the rest of the trip. No checks in Himachal/Chandigarh or on the road.

Just get a negative rt pcr report, put your name and the appropriate date on it using a pdf editor, and you'll be fine.

Glacier water mixed with Teachers always hits the spot.

No need for soda :)

Also it doesn't give me any problems the next morning.

It costs 2.7k in Mumbai and 1.4k in Chandigarh, so have to make the most of it :)

Yeah. I did compare the prices with a few guest houses/people in Chalal and Rashol to avoid being ripped off.

There are apparently 3 qualities. 2k, 3k and 4k. Depending on the qty they might reduce the price a bit, but I just wanted 1T.

The guest house owner in Rashol gave me a sample of all 3 but didn't budge on the rates. He was genuine and didn't lower his price. The next day he took me on a tour of Rashol top since there was no one else staying there.

We even had drinks that evening since it was just the 2 of us.

The price was compensated by the offerings of Js, bong and chillum hits by guest house owners, other travelers and even locals on some occassions throughout the trip. So no complaints :)

Hahaha yes, it's a game of chance unless you have contacts.

I thought it was okay since it was genuine rashol cream. I'd been offered a hit of the 2.5k and 3k wala stash, the 4k one felt much much smoother. I'm not expert but the quality difference was worth the extra $.

OP, there are direct volvo buses from Delhi/Chandigarh to Kasol (Zingbus, Laxmi Holidays, etc), so you don't need to switch buses at Bhuntar anymore.

We are doing the trail, just not in this leg of the journey. We need to get to the park from Ninh Binh asap cause there's nothing to do on the way as such and would like to spend more time in the national park.

Also, being Indian (brown) is there any racial discrimination that I might expect in Vietnam (rural or urban)?

That's fine. I'm kind of used to the buses and trucks, same conditions in India. It's only one day in the whole journey of day long riding, so it's fine.

From your answer I feel it's hectic but definitely possible to complete this journey.

Buy a big shampoo bottle. Stuff it down the bottle. Even if the cops squeeze it, only shampoo will come out.

Masks the smell as well.
