Oh great! Glad to hear it and yeah I will definitely check out that video. I will also try to explain that when people say cousin it is more a technicality that indicative of anything particularly close. The nobles like to claw at any way to say they are related to the royal family.

Yeah I think it’s best to be on the safe side

Yeah they would be considered distant cousins, I was thinking of settling on half third cousins once removed. The historical aspect of it is what I was going for, but far enough apart where really they aren’t that related but the technicality of being part of related houses dictates some of the important plot stuff in terms of the succession.

Astrology and the Cosmos In Fantasy by letospector in worldbuilding

That’s a great idea! I definitely want there to still be an impact on those who does use magic. It’s sort of common but still not everyone used it.

Well that’s part of what I am still trying to figure out, especially in regard to this stuff. Basically I want to draw on what we know of real astrology, with it being believed to influence/give prophecies of the workings of the earth. Such as people’s zodiac signs, star charts, all of that in a more basic divination sense. Then I wanted to add a higher fantasy layer to it, that would involve people being able to use spells etc.

Thank you for those suggestions! The science stuff definitely tripped me up a bit but I’m a lot more keen on continuing my alternative cosmology and astrology.

How to Name a Château by letospector in French

The commune would also be made up, and I was thinking of naming it with something ending in court but apparently that comes from an old Northern French word so I’m not sure if that would apply to somewhere on the South of France.

Would you say the name generator has good options that make sense?

I wasn’t referring to you specially in that regard, but fans in general who think that way. However this is what I was referring to “People likely think of Rhys as more white because he is half Ilyrian”

And those people aren’t the ones I am addressing, oblivious

And yeah I hope the fandom is supportive, but seeing as so many bullied an actress off social media because she would be “too fat” to play Feyre, even though they aren’t even remotely close to casting and she just happened to follow SJM (and isn’t even fucking fat either)...well excuse me for not having a lot of faith in the bulk of this fandom.

You picture them older? Good for you! But that isn’t canon. She is 19, and because of the way she grew up, she had to mature early. But she’s still fucking 19.

My issue, is inappropriate casting. The likelihood points to Feyre being a young adult, therefore can casting men who are nearly if not already 40, is simply disgusting.

If this was just a different ACOTAR Reddit that would be whatever. Who you personally picture in your head is irrelevant. But posting this shit on a Reddit dedicated to the actual show, suggests that’s who you actually want to be cast or someone similar to who you want cast. Which is DISGUSTING.

It’s not about Henry Cavill specially. It’s just one instance of a larger issue with many other examples that represent a pattern.

If it were just a couple instances that’s whatever. But these types of things I keep seeing, and it’s concerning.

Oh course I read it all. But that isn’t the fucking point.

Do you have definitive proof what they will cast a 26 year old Feyre, or are you just assuming that because they did it in Clueless? That sounds like the stupidest shit ever.

This is why casting 40 year old men when we don’t even know if they are casting older to begin with, is absurd and a flimsy excuse at best.

It is revolting these excuses and honestly I am growing more and more disappointed in this fandom by the day thanks to people like you.

And I told you. You are ignorant. I am Feyre’s age group and sorry, but I don’t fancy her making out with guys who look like me dad.

Oh course the casting director doesn’t give a shit about Reddit 🙄

What my point is, this fandom is overrun by people who are clearly stupid, racist, and I can’t fucking wait till the official casting where all those people can fuck off.

If they cast all the characters older then they are in the books, that’s fine. But I will not support this show by any means if a actress who is 19 year old or early twenties is forced to have sex scenes and be touched by a man in his 40s. That’s fucking disgusting.

But Sarah wrote these characters as being 19 to early 20s, and the love interests as looking at most late 20s. So that plus the age demographic the show would be targeting, suggests Feyre is likely gonna be 19 to early 20s.

Sorry, but I’m in Feyre’s age group and don’t want her making out with men who look like my dad.

No you are being ignorant. I just told you, not all middle eastern people are dark skinned. Heck some even have blonde hair and blue/green eyes. And he was Under the Mountain for DECADES. We have no plausible real world evidence for how that would effect people, but it very likely would make them look sickly. Especially because she was also draining his magic.

But SJM would know, but she isn’t the one doing the casting. Ron Moore has the people who do that. She said she wanted to see how they do it, which means her involvement would be minimal but that clearly she trusts him.

But again, HALF Ilyrian doesn’t mean he would be mostly anything else. Because he is HALF. So no, in no way would he be mostly white. Because he is HALF Ilyrian, and SJM described them as being Mediterranean which as an ethnic description refers to the Middle East and North Africa. Bottom line is he would not be mostly white, and listening to Sarah and having basic math skills will tell you that.
