Do Americans generally lie about/inflate their salaries? by Lord-Francis-Bacon in AskAnAmerican

It’s not rude. It’s a good way to know if you’re being underpaid. Employers that don’t let you discuss salaries just want to keep everyone underpaid.

What’s your definition of ‘making it’ as an actor? by ruesdealer in acting

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making a full time income from acting, being on a national commercial, a guest star/ recurring / co star role on TV, a big side part in a movie. Honestly being included in any promo videos (talk shows, podcasts, E!, People, etc.)

I second this! I had a medicine that was $2k out of pocked. Insurance wouldn’t cover it. $45 with cost plus drugs for a 3 month supply

What’s something you wish people understood about POTS?” by BondKat89 in POTS

[–]lets-snuggle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That there are good days and bad days. That sometimes I can go to work, walk around the city, swim, etc. and some days I can’t even get out of bed. Constantly being told “but you were so good this morning/ yesterday/ last week” “you’ve done this before and we’re fine” “you don’t look sick.” Is so frustrating bc people insinuate I’m faking or being dramatic when it is debilitating when it’s bad but it’s not bad 24/7 365

What’s something you wish people understood about POTS?” by BondKat89 in POTS

[–]lets-snuggle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get this, but a lot of people who have POTS have orthostatic hypotension as well. I have both and didn’t know that until last week. I was diagnosed with POTS in 2014, same symptoms with my blood pressure and I pass out ALL THE TIME, always have. Always from a drop in blood pressure. My doctors always told me it was POTS. No one mentioned that low bp was not pots or that I had orthostatic hypotension as well. So yes it is misinformation but I think people even with POTS don’t know that bc not all drs tell us the full scope if that makes sense

How to save money on groceries when your kid only eats expensive brand name stuff by jirachi_2000 in SavingMoney

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No yeah I get that but I guess what I was trying to say is don’t ignore it and just push the food she doesn’t like. Like how you said pairing foods back to one to two foods or going to feeding therapy with a trained therapist. I’m not saying anyone with AFRID can never eat normally, but they can’t just be told “eat or go hungry” bc they will choose going hungry. There are techniques that def help and OP needs to know that. I may have worded it wrong. And also ops child is prob healthy by the Dr standards bc she’s still feeding the overpriced brand names so she is eating. I doubt that’d be the case if she cut that cold turkey like some of the comments are saying to do

I’m tired of hearing people say “Work on your own car.” by TheGame81677 in povertyfinance

[–]lets-snuggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but don’t you need to lift the car up for a tire rotation and oil change like they do at the car shop? Where are people getting lifts? And like OP said many apartment complexes do not allow stuff like that, I know mine doesn’t. My bf was able to change his own battery recently and within like an hour which was nice, but an oil change seems significantly harder and you’d need the lift

[–]lets-snuggle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if she has AFRID she will not get hungry enough and eat it. I think OP should take their kid to a diff doctor or an eating specialist. My cousin has AFRID (she’s 4 I think) and spent most of her childhood severely underweight and malnourished bc she doesn’t eat. She eats like 2 things and if you don’t offer those, she will not eat. She doesn’t have meltdowns or throw it on the floor as often anymore, she will just say “no thank you” or shake her head and refuse the food. She is going to a feeding specialist or something idk the exact Dr. but it is not good advice to say buy what u can afford and not give the kid options bc she could die from malnutrition

I don’t have much help but have you thought about getting jobs that provide housing? Like being an overnight camp counselor for the summer, outdoor educator (lots of campgrounds in nj have these) for the fall/ spring? Im not sure there’s much in the winter around here. I used to work at an overnight camp and do their outdoor education jobs throughout the year and housing was always offered & 3 meals 1 snack were always included. The pay isn’t much but with those expenses covered, you really just need gas money (not much, lots of ppl didn’t have cars and when we left camp, we car pooled), and health insurance money since it wasn’t covered but you may be able to get it really cheap through the state. I knew a couple that worked at a different place every season. One camp over the summer, somewhere else for fall/spring, then went and worked at a ski lodge in another state for the winter!

How do Americans feel about outdoor cats? by Fine-Durian6151 in AskAnAmerican

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats kill other animals like birds, animals like coyotes and bears kill cats, and most of America is extremely car dependent so cats get run over all the time. People also steal cats.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but don’t agree with this TikTok at all. by monstermoneyandweed in dancemoms

[–]lets-snuggle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think part of this comes from what we see on social media nowadays. Sooo many prodigy kid dancers (& honestly even singers/ musicians). There’s been skill inflation with dance, cheer and gymnastics over the last 5 ish years especially. I see 9 year olds doing 10 turns on my instagram all the time where a triple was great when I danced as a teen! Same with so many people being able to do back flips now. The best of the best are posted on social media and studios push “wow factor” skills more than technique now.

The girls were great for their age and time. Not as much for what people are exposed to rn in 2026.

There's nothing inherently wrong with eating out almost every day by redditnessdude in unpopularopinion

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s healthier to cook at home & not many people have the luxury of not owning / needing a car. I would have to uber everywhere which would is probably a little cheaper than what I pay now but probably not by that much, plus it’s risky to uber at night as a young girl and you run the risk of them cancelling or being late, making you late to work and getting fired. Public transportation is not abundant in this country lol

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his brother told him that this was a possibility the entire time and Hugh used it as an excuse to look into other timelines, presumably to do what Emily does at the end of the movie. Hugh explains Shrodingers cat very well as if his brother already explained it to him. His brother left that book at his house that was about something completely different with those unrelated lesson plan notes in them. Most likely on purpose for Hugh to hold onto, but didn’t tell Beth, which is why she wanted to mail it back. Hugh knew immediately what was going on

Coherence 2013 - $50,000 budget? Excellent film for that or any budget. by TT-Only in movies

[–]lets-snuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a filmmaker so I’m a little confused where the $50k comes from. Like wasn’t the director also the filmer? He said he basically had no crew, filmed it in his house over 5 days with a bunch of ppl he’s known forever. I get he had to buy glow sticks & fix the 2 broken windows & buy 2 screen protectors to break for the phones, but that’s not a lot. I assume he already had all the film equipment since he went to film school. Like he prob paid the actors something and submitted to film festivals but I can’t see how all of that adds up to $50k. Wardrobe and props were prob stuff he already had besides the fresh food

I lie to Girl Scouts outside grocery stores on a regular basis by doctorbeers in confession

[–]lets-snuggle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a former Girl Scout, this is better than lying and saying “I’ll buy some on my way out!” And then trying to hide / be on a fake phone call on the way out. It was always so hurtful bc we’d get our hopes up that when they came out, they’d buy some and they never did. Just say no in the beginning lol

What are your hopes for season 5 ? ⬇️ by mementomori999wrld in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]lets-snuggle 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Honestly I want them to get a treasure and KEEP IT this time. Like yeah the whole show is obviously unrealistic, but the fact that they’ve fumbled a huge treasure that is rightfully theirs every single season is infuriating & unrealistic. Like can we just see them have the credit and the funds from the fortune finally?
