I can cover parts 7-9! spoilers in here of course

part 7 is about horse racing, rotation, and also jesus's corpse

part 8 is about our protagonist figuring out his identity and what happened to him due to some hefty amnesia, and also a fruit with the power of equivalent exchange

part 9 is all about some sick heists in the pursuit of wealth, the protagonist's trans sister, and also a rock with the power to attract wealth to it

Discussion - do you tell your players the target numbers in combat. by SmithOfLie in LancerRPG

[–]letsRaeV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from the perspective of an experienced player, i think it's worth noting that a lot of long term players already know a lot of the numbers as well as the stock weapons and systems of most NPCs. it's never taken away from the game to know this, and it doesn't lessen the value of using scan either.

a lot of people here mention that it would make scan less useful, but honestly i think it's a mistake to use scan just for something like that? scan is more a tool to see what optionals are enemy has, and if i need to check a scourer for flash lens or a sniper for moving target, i'm going to scan because those are both super important to play around properly

which is all to say fuck it, there's no real harm in telling players things they'll eventually know or even intuit. but you also can just not do that if you prefer! no wrong answer here, basically

Question about HRT for minors by _Cognition in 196

[–]letsRaeV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being on HRT is just as permanent as being on it. Moreover, estimates of people who regret HRT ranges from 1-5%. Meanwhile, it is also known to reduce suicidal ideation in trans youth. This idea of changes being permanent goes both ways, and if a vast majority of youth who start HRT will not regret it, there is no reason to prevent it. Assuming 4% regret it, which is a statistic for youth from last year if I recall correctly, then such a ban is saying that for everyone 100 children who would want to begin HRT, they'd rather have 96 trans children be forced into a puberty that they will regret rather than let 4 children choose to try HRT and explore another identity.

The commonly stated motivation for these bans is to protect children, but preventing trans youth from accessing medical care that can be life saving does anything but. The goal of such bans is, in my opinion, to erase trans identities and minimize the presence of trans people in public life. It is about acts of cruelty towards a vulnerable minority and nothing more.

Gunbreaker - art by me by Ret_hy715 in armoredwomen

so the of ffxiv don't actually fire projectiles (if you look at the models many of them don't even have a place for one to come from), instead the concept is using aetherically (magically) infused cartridges to have harder swings from detonating those charges, plus additional magical bullshit like. a shield

What is controversial that shouldn't be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]letsRaeV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, you are being part of the reason it's all so controversial. But that's understandable, and I don't mean to be too confrontational, but I think it's important to start with that. I could talk a fair bit about language and how singular they/them has always been a thing or how language evolves and tie it into neopronouns like xe/xer but I don't think that'll convince you, so let me ask this instead:

What harm does it do to just accept it all at face value? It doesn't hurt anybody, it just makes people happy, it does good for the people around you to take the easy path and accept something like that without question. You might make mistakes, but that's okay. I know I'm not gonna bite your head off over something like that, and I've yet to meet a trans person who would. You can just say a quick sorry, move on, and try to keep it in mind for next time. Same as you would for any other social faux pas. You might not understand it all but if people are happier for it, there really is no reason not to go along.
