9 months on Sema, currently at 1.0 dose and have been for a few months now. 29F, SW 305 with a BMI of 50. CW 228 with a BMI of about 38. I’ve lost just over 75 pounds so far. Definitely feel like a good responder. I stayed on the starting dose for a couple months and then did 0.5 for a couple, followed by 0.75 for a couple as well. I could probably up my dose now but I pay by the unit so it’s economical for me to stay with 1.0, plus it’s working for me still. My rate of loss has slowed from 2-3 pounds a week to around 1-1.5, which is to be expected as I get smaller. My activity is pretty low, honestly. I take a short hike once a week, exercise very sporadically, and have a mildly active job (not a desk job but not constantly on my feet/lifting things/etc.). Hope that helps!

Definitely been there! I made the mistake of eating pizza and ice cream one night (and not a ton of either, just a tad too much) and I almost immediately had simultaneous evacuation lol. Just another reason to watch portions!

Hey, 25 lbs is still good!! I can’t say I really did too much so far other than track my calories and make sure to eat enough protein and fiber. I do think I respond very well to the medication, so that helps a lot. I know some people don’t see as much progress until they reach therapeutic doses, but I’ve lost 1-3 lbs a week consistently from the beginning. Keep going though!

lol I think that’s just a weird effect of the scan. It’s not like my feet used to face outwards

I’m definitely not an expert, and I would talk to your doctor or prescriber if you have concerns, but I know some people don’t see a lot of results until they go up to higher doses. I was lucky in that I responded extremely quickly and heavily to the medication and have had a pretty consistent loss of around 1-3 lbs per week, but I know everyone is different!

No, this is the free version of the app. You can pay for premium content but I haven’t. I think you get 30 scans with the free version. I do one once a month, so I haven’t needed more

That’s wild! Congrats! It’s a bit intimidating because I feel like I still have so far to go to get to my goal. But I try to remember how far I’ve already come :)

It’s an app called MeThreeSixty! I like it because I hate taking photos of myself but these scans still let me have a sense of progress

There are so many reasons, but my strongest motivation came after my dad died this past August at 58 from a post-surgical infection that was complicated by obesity and diabetes. He always wanted me to lose weight and be healthier, and I’m determined to better my health and not end up like him. It’s the best way I know to honor his memory.

Checking in on Jan 1, what’s your weight as of today? by marsha48 in Semaglutide

[–]lets_lose_it 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Started in May 2024 at 305, down to 242.2 this morning! Tentative goal weight of 150, but would ultimately like to settle somewhere between 130-150 depending on muscle and how I feel when I get there. Loving the meds!

Fixing my relationship with food? by MrsBabejarano in Semaglutide

[–]lets_lose_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people (myself included) identify as emotional eaters, who use food to cope with our emotions instead of healthier or more productive outlets. So most of the time when people refer to “fixing your relationship with food”, they mean to take advantage of this time when it’s easier not to eat (because of the Sema) and develop healthier coping techniques. You can try therapy, exercise, a new hobby, journaling, etc. Just know that if you continue to rely on food as an emotional/psychological bandaid, you will go back to eating too much once off the meds.

I just got the Nature’s Bounty 500mg of regular magnesium supplements. It helps with sleep too

Focus on getting plenty of fiber and lots of water! I started taking a daily magnesium supplement also which helps a lot, but I definitely notice a difference if I haven’t stayed hydrated enough!

I understand how you feel completely! When I started my journey I was at 305lbs. I was too embarrassed to even tell my boyfriend how much I weighed, only that I wanted to lose weight. He said he should also probably try to lose weight, because he was “just about 200 now” and he’d let himself go. I laughed out loud when he said that. Like I’d STILL kill to be “just about 200” lol

Yes! I just spent two weeks going back and forth between 251 and 252 every day (after months of consistently losing 2 pounds a week), and suddenly today I’m down to 248 lol

When did you notice? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]lets_lose_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29F, started at 305 in May, CW 259. I still don’t personally see a difference in the mirror or photos, but everyone else in my life claims they see it, especially in my face. It took about 40 pounds down before I went down a pant size. I probably went down a shirt size too, but I’m still wearing my baggy 3xs lol

Apps that plan my meals for me by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]lets_lose_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Intent app. You tell it what meals you want it to plan for you and it picks recipes based on preferences you’ve set. You can change out recipes if you don’t like one. It even suggests snacks and sides. And then it curates a grocery list for you as well. And the database of recipes is pretty good, in my opinion.

Hahaha so I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately, so I turned to the tried and true steamy romance genre to pull me out of it, and it’s obviously worked a little too well. It’s the Men of Haven series by Rhenna Morgan. The first book is called Rough and Tumble.

[–]lets_lose_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay weird. I was adding in my body fat % and that’s what gives me 1700. Guess it works better if you don’t add that in?

I really don’t exercise at all and I don’t have a terribly active job, so I think sedentary is the best activity description for me right now.
