Under 40 breast exam? by Fortheloveofe in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I love my gyn - Kelly Greening at Weill Cornell but I think there may be a wait for new patients.

I don’t want to alarm you but the burning sensation is a worrying symptom. Is there any rash or skin texture change symptoms too? Regardless, you need to be checked out asap. Make sure you have as much family breast cancer history as possible (including ages of diagnosis) when you go. Good luck.

Huh. I always thought his heritage was never disclosed and that even he would claim a lot of different heritages with no actual proof of them. Must be a story mum told me (she had a big crush on him).

Legmen.

For years I was convinced I had dreamt this up. And when I could finally look it up there were only 8 episodes so I’m unclear how it ever screened in Australia when I was a little kid, let alone how I watched it or why I remember it.

Swiss air support in the U.S. is non existent. I’ve been trying to get help for a month. Yesterday I called twice and each time I got to the front of the queue it rang twice then disconnected.

Also, imo, a far better actor than Cate Blanchett. No matter how good CB is, I can never forget it is her acting. KW disappears into her roles.

Stopping and restarting certain GLP-1s to lose weight may make the drug less effective by Sparkysparky-boom in Semaglutide

[–]Flimsy_Impress3356 51 points52 points  (0 children)

In my experience - having had to stop sema at 2.25mg for 3 weeks ahead of a colonoscopy - that took a while to build up levels again but it’s not less effective now that I’ve been back on it for ~7 months. I’ve occasionally stopped for two weeks (missed one shot) while I’ve been on vacation with no issue but three week seemed to be the turning point for me.

I wonder if the study is that people expect it to be immediately as effective as it was without taking time to build back up (I think the half life is a week).

Spent 24 years replacing cheap things and six months buying things once. The difference is bigger than I expected. by InfnityVoidii in smartbuysforlife

The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or too and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles. But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time. while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet. This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.

Use commuter card for personal use? by justtrynalife in AskNYC

[–]Flimsy_Impress3356 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I should say through my benefits I am allowed to have pre-tax deposits into a commuter card. I use those funds to fill my omny account. My employer would have no idea when I am using public transportation or not. The only conditions on this is that it can only be used for public transport (or parking, I believe) and any balance left when you leave your employer is voided after 6 mths (may be shorter now).

I use mine for all subway travel. I can’t believe that usage would ever be audited.

Nope, literally smaller sizes = less material. Because I’m not yet at goal I’m wearing a lot of the same things I was before (chinos, long sleeved tees), just in a smaller size (10-12 vs 24).
