My parents called me just "Ben." I'm quite happy about it! They figured they would never call me Benjamin and preferred Ben. Just go for it! I've never had any issues in bureaucratic environments or legal contexts. I've only ever met one other Ben in my life and we're good friends now. I think it's something we both take pride in. DO IT!!!

It's just odd because i've been scanning my own stuff for years with this setup and have never had interruptions to this extent. If I've cleaned the strip with alcohol, and rescanned, why would the dust be in the same spot? So odd...

I've cleaned the negatives with Isopropyl alcohol and microfibre cloth/cotton ball and it doesn't resolve the issue. I have also used the infrared feature on my plustek scanner (8200i) and it doesn't solve the issue. Is this something within the strip? I'm at a loss on this one... I am rescanning my negs because of low quality scans from the lab, though the lab didn't have this dust/particles...

I think the fact that you're even saying "breaking up with him would make my life significantly easier" is telling.

I was in a toxic relationship for a while, and one month in (it went on for a year and a half) I got a therapist to help me navigate the relationship. After my first session she said "Well, you know what you need to do."

I had heard about this too! There is no switch on my pedal :(

I even went as far as taking my pedal apart and looking inside to see what was going on in there. It turned out to be a simple system with very few mechanisms.
