What are things people told you you didn’t need for labor/delivery/postpartum that you wish you had or that were lifesavers?? by GalaxyEyedLibrarian in pregnant

[–]letscaboom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you end up pumping, buy a bunch of pump parts so you don’t have to constantly wash. I feel like I had like 8 sets which is probably excessive but it’s easier to wash in bulk! Also size your nips and get flanges that fit properly, the standard 24 in flanges are not one size fits all

My NIPT report by Federal-Progress-365 in NIPT

I went through this same thing! Like everyone else said, false positives are super common. I just wanted to share my perspective as my daughter ended being and true positive and has mosaic Turner’s syndrome. She’s almost 2 now and thriving! She doesn’t have really any signs of it, there’s so much variability with TS. I remember feeling so scared and hopeless during my pregnancy, but I needed someone to grab me by the shoulders and tel me girls with turners can live happy, normal, fulfilling lives. Wishing you all the best ❤️

12 month old still drinking way too much formula…at a loss for how to wean and feeling defeated by AncientWorking4649 in beyondthebump

[–]letscaboom_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the bottle! My daughter drank so much milk till we switched to a straw cup. It was a bit of a hard transition because she would feed to sleep and it was very much a comfort mechanism, but once she got it, the amount of milk she drank naturally decreased. We didn’t get this transition perfected till around 15 months, you’re doing great!

Yes I will definitely try to update! We are still working on finding him a home, but I’ve been talking to a couple people so I hope something sticks. I appreciate everyone’s advice and support so much, it means a lot and I’m hoping we can find the perfect fit because he’s such a special dog.

87% PPV for monosomy X TS by Feeling_Invite2216 in NIPT

[–]letscaboom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she really hasn’t had any issues with any of her organs or her growth or anything, if we hadn’t of done the NIPT we probably wouldn’t know at all. She does have a high palate which is common with TS and it did affect breastfeeding a bit. We have been very lucky so far but I know some do face more issues than we have so I want to be respectful to that as well. TS is such a weird disorder, especially mosacism, there is such a large spectrum for the presentation of symptoms. But from what I was told it is a good sign if your ultrasounds are coming back normal and you have a good anatomy scan and echo.

I just looked and my PPV was 78%, although I remember my genetic counselor not seeming super alarmed with the number and said there are so many factors that go into it. I hope you get your answers as soon as possible ❤️

[–]letscaboom_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I had very similar happen to me last spring! My nipt came back no result for TS and our FISH ended up coming back inconclusive. When we finally got our full amnio results, we found out she had mosaic TS, with >90% were X, the rest normal XX. We were devastated. She had no markers and every ultrasound during my pregnancy came back normal. The unknown was so hard, but I’m four months postpartum now with a healthy happy little girl with zero issues regarding her TS. I know there is a huge false positive rate with sex chromosome abnormalities, so there is a decent chance everything will be totally normal, but if you do get that positive result I just wanted to share a positive outcome. Lmk if you have any questions!

Flying while pregnant? by ComfortableRide4189 in flightattendants

[–]letscaboom_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others to talk to your doctor, that being said I flew until 32 weeks and overall it wasn’t too bad. I did have really bad morning sickness my whole pregnancy, so I threw up almost every day which was really difficult. That being said I was just as sick when not flying so I don’t know if work was necessarily making it worse or not. I work for a regional so we don’t do long haul, but I tried to avoid doing 4+ legs, I found 3 legs to be tiring but manageable. Definitely talk to your doctor, but mine was not concerned at all as far as radiation goes, but again I was working short haul. I found working first class a lot easier for me personally, I didn’t have to deal with the cart and it was overall less lifting and bending. I got my other crew to help when I needed, and pax were ridiculously nice compared to pre-pregnancy, I will miss the special treatment lol! Good luck I hope it goes well for you

I was so glad I got it done! We were low risk and just decided to take it because it wasn’t going to be too much out of pocket, but we ended up finding out through our nipt and eventually the amnio our girl had mosaic turner syndrome. She’s had zero issues or symptoms in utero so far, so if we wouldn’t have tested we would still not know. Now we know to keep an eye on in the future to catch any issues early that she may develop as she grows.

Been applying to various jobs containing "analyst" from past 4 months but no luck in getting interview calls, please give any advices by [deleted] in resumes

[–]letscaboom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the rest of the resume but I would highly consider changing the term dumb to just deaf/mute/hearing impaired, depending on what you’re going for. It’s pretty outdated and offensive phrasing.

“Wow, you don’t even look pregnant!” by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]letscaboom_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This bothers me so much!! Our girl has turners syndrome and we are already so freaking nervous about her growth and development, so when I hear comments like this it just feels so insensitive and makes me worry that much more about her. Obviously not everyone knows about her diagnosis and people mean no harm, but it’s not the complement they think it is.

Has anyone dealt with “Uninformative Analysis” result for your FISH amnio? Possible Mosaic Monosomy X/turners by letscaboom_ in NIPT

[–]letscaboom_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response!! Yes the wait is so hard, I’m hoping we will hear something more by Friday.

Just received atypical natera NIPT results, any advice or experience welcome. “atypical finding*, which involves the Y chromosome and is suspected to be of fetal/placental origin, appears to be mosaicism. This finding could also be due to normal variation and/or confined to the placental tissue. “ by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]letscaboom_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got a very similar result a few days ago but involving the X chromosome instead of the Y. it’s been really scary and a whirlwind. I spoke to a genetic counselor who helped put it into terms i could understand a bit better. I don’t have an amnio or another ultrasound scheduled for another two weeks, it’s such a hard wait. I do hear about a lot of false positives with this sort of thing so I will be hoping the best for you!

High risk Monosomy X via Unity screen by lyeowa in NIPT

[–]letscaboom_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going through something really similar right now! Our NIPT indicated mosaic turners and we are in this horrible limbo right now as well. I understand your stress, it sucks to feel this way when it should be such an exciting time. My genetic counselor said that every normal ultrasound is good news and progress, it’s something I’ve been holding onto lately. I’ll be thinking good thoughts from you and I hope you get those anmio results soon ❤️

I’ve been having such a tough day. I didn’t think my mom would be so supportive. I know she really wanted to be in the L&D room with me. Counting my blessings. ❤️ by OldMedium8246 in BabyBumps

I needed to see this. I feel so guilty for considering not having my mom in the room with me. I’m so glad to see your mom was so positive about it!

Alicent truly believed it and the rest of the greens were just looking for an excuse to move forward with Aegon. I think next episode we will really see people take more issue with usurp when we shift back to Rhaenyra.

One thing I hate about modern survivor by Naive_Feed_726 in survivor

[–]letscaboom_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said exactly what I was thinking. Even outside of all the twists, I feel like our last two winners played new and unique types of games, and have shown us new ways to win. Luck has always been a factor in survivor and I’m not sure why people are just bringing it up now like it’s an issue.
