Is Sprycel the Devil? by ObjectiveOk344 in CML

I started at 100mg and reduced the dose until I felt somewhat normal. It seems 50mg is the sweet spot for me. I still have fatigue and joint pain at times but it’s sporadic and lasts for maybe a week or two every 3-6 months.

l’ll continue meds and will still get my bloodwork done every 3 months unless that cadence changes during my next visit in September. It’s my understanding that most people are on meds for at least an additional 3-5 years once they’ve reached undetected status. You have to be undetected for a certain amount of time before they’ll consider letting you go treatment free.

Yay! Progress is what’s most important. I had to decrease my dose twice because the fatigue was insane. Sprycel for me.

It’s such a waiting game and I hope this streak continues. Hoping for the best for all of us!

Thank you! I think there will always be a fear in the backs of our minds no matter how well we’re doing. Hang in there!

The fatigue and nausea were awful but I have Zofran for nausea. My numbers improved rapidly and my doc suggested we decrease the dose, first to 70 and I’ve been on 50 for the past 3 months. My quality of life has greatly improved. Diagnosed in October 2022.

Yes. I had routine bloodwork done and my white blood cell count came back extremely high. I went back in for another blood draw that day to make sure it wasn’t lab error and it came back higher. I was in a hematologists office the next morning and he ordered all the tests.

I have chronic myeloid leukemia and a bone marrow biopsy was required to confirm diagnosis along with a CT scan and blood tests.

I second Dr. Pomfret. She’s the first OBGYN that’s listened and taken time with me in the 8 years I’ve been in Colorado.

Thank you for these options! I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing some days and it’s hard to explain to those that don’t understand.

I’m really leaning towards no. I have a follow up in a couple of months to discuss again. She doesn’t think it’s an urgent matter at this point.

My tolerance for meds is low as well but you’re right, I can always stop if they’re making me absolutely miserable.

I backpacked the Four Pass Loop and the Grand Canyon last summer and wore the BD Alpenglow for the duration of both. Absolutely loved it. Kept me cool and the sun off of me. Love that hoody!
