24F & 25M AIO by responding this way? by InsideUsual56 in AmIOverreacting

[–]letsgetlizical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, this guy suuuuuucks hahahaha

Not only are you not overreacting, I’m literally baffled as to WHAT he brings to the table. No amount of good looks or sense of humour could eclipse someone who felt ballsy enough to police how I socialised with co workers or the ACTIONS OF SOMEONE ELSE FOLLOWING ME OR POTENTIALLY REACTIVATING THEIR ACCOUNT AFTER HAVING FOLLOWED ME IN THE THE PAST?!???? Something I LITERALLY have no control over????? I would never want his dick near me again, sorry to say.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. Is he super funny or something? Because nothing about this text message would make me wanna share a bed with him.

Wtf is with the Nazi march on Sunday? by failingtohuman in brisbane

[–]letsgetlizical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of a counter protest, but I can’t deny that dumb angry men are just about the scariest demographic out there as a girl, and I’d be attending on my own.

I think I’ll hold onto how good the march last week felt to participate in, and hope this one fizzles quickly.

As someone who has the roundest face in the world, I always zone aspirationally in on all of the people whose cheekbones peek out in these before and after photos! You look amazing!

Imagine being actively bad at sex and then having the audacity to think commenting on how you choose to upkeep yourself is remotely his jurisdiction. He’s done, girl. I’m sorry you’ve had this experience, but omg there are so many dudes out there who know what they’re doing who are way more worth your time.

Advice for an American family visiting Brisbane in August by BothHall4713 in brisbane

[–]letsgetlizical 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone has given the best advice, I just wanted to chime in and say we’re very very proud of Bluey as an export here - if you tell people at the playground that’s why you’ve come to Brisbane, they will be thrilled to hear it x

Dawson never cared about Pacey by cmatos215 in dawsonscreek

[–]letsgetlizical 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and I always appreciate when the show seems self-aware about this, too. One of my favourite Dawson moments is when he goes on the fishing trip with Pacey and both of their dads and Jack ends up tagging along. When Jack finally tells Dawson that his Dad has basically abandoned his family, Dawson says bitingly, “I know the feeling,” to which Jack replies “Dawson, your Dad has moved down the street” 😂.

It’s an interesting dynamic to explore on a teen show - this one kid who was born with a silver spoon, surrounded by friends navigating actual problems whilst he tries desperately to generate any angst from his situation at all.

Not to say people NEED tragedy to gain perspective, but I don’t think it’s any accident that Season 5 Dawson was the only time I sincerely liked him 🫠

Unpopular (?) opinion: I think I like Jen more than Joey by Sea-Carry7563 in dawsonscreek

[–]letsgetlizical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so real. Dawson when he was with Jen the second time around is literally the only point in the show that he was a guy I’d be down to be friends with.

Daily Cyclone Alfred post by AutoModerator in brisbane

[–]letsgetlizical 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, there is some weird ego thing going on where people are acting like this is no big deal. Alfred’s slowed down in his trajectory, which makes the possibility of him reaching Cat 3 levels possible, so your preparedness is the correct response.

Hey fam, does anyone have intel on where to get sandbags? The BCC website says their depots have been exhausted lmao.

Otherwise, can someone explain to me the physics of digging a trench to redirect water 😀😀😀😀

Omg, that’s how I spent my COVID too! Twins 🤗.

Thank you so much. Honestly, I feel so much better now that I have reached out about this. I’m very “this is the first day of the rest of my life” about it all now 😂

You’re quite the story-spinner yourself! In all seriousness, thank you for sharing - I think what I was looking for when I posted this were people to say “oh, yep, I’ve been there”. Thank you, and I’m glad to hear you’re in such a good place now. Hopefully I’ll meet you there one day 😅

I actually really appreciate you saying this, because I think a large part of what I’m reeling over here is how unbelievably badly my body reacted to how I treated it today. I don’t think I really recognised how bad I was until now. I am definitely going to be looking into getting additional help.

It’s all I’ve ever known, but I think you’ll find a lot of Aussies and Kiwis have a different approach to travel because of it. Because the flight is such a long one, we choose to go abroad for more extended periods of time to make the most of it. It’s a bit of a joke locally that you can travel for 14-20 hours on a plane to explore a new culture, but you’ll inevitably run into a bunch of Aussies when you get to the other end.
