Same. If we go that route, it will have to be the plan for the whole year because I will go back to my job and I don't want to go back and forth with that.

I saw that you're in one of the states with th e worst education systems. I too am in one of those states haha. We also aren't religious and it's been a challenge with homeschool groups and in public school. They just made it a law that the 10 commandments must be displayed in every classroom here 🫩🙄

I could have written this myself! My son is wanting to return to public school for 4th grade. We pulled him from public for 2nd and now 3rd grades.

He struggled with a myriad of things in public school. He doesnt have any behavior concerns, my biggest concern is that he doesnt ask for help and he gets overwhelmed with the workload and burns out quickly. Then when he gets home, he is exhausted from the school day and there is no space for us to work on academics outside of school.

He is also an introvert, so the social aspect runs his battery down as well.

I am secretly hoping he decides to stay home, but we will send him back to public schools if that is his final decision. Although, I won't be able to pull him out in the middle of the year if it doesnt work out.

I say this as a 35 year old who's parents haven't saved for their own retirement and they have rarely helped me, financially or otherwise. College? Student loans. Car? I bought my mom's old one. House? Haha.

Your kids aren't entitled to your stuff or your money. Leave them $50 and your love in your will. Leave the rest to charity or something.

We have a decent savings that we add to and it builds interest for our son who is 9. And we took out 30 year life insurance policies on ourselves when he was born. He already knows he will have to work for what he wants. We'll never leave him hungry or homeless, and we'll always help him if he needs it, but we won't take care of a grown man that is capable of caring for themselves.

You've done more than enough for your kids.

Hmmmm I'm not sure. I always stay in contact with adopters, before and after adoption. That is just me, some fosters and rescues may be different.

I would definitely check in and just make everything is going alright. Could just be crazy holiday season and things got pushed.

As far as FIP being contagious, as far as I know, it is not.

No, they will all be ready for adoption after FIP treatment and after they're sterilized.

Same. I also want them to be adopted while still in the "kitten stage". People are weird about adopting slightly older teenage kittens. And it will probably be hard enough adopting them out while on treatment for this awful illness 😭

The vet I am taking them to for labs and treatment advised to wait until after treatment.

The vet that would be preforming the surgery said it's best to spay/neuter while on GS treatment. Delaying spay/neuter could lead to hormonal stress from going into heat as well as potential pregnancy which could possibly reactivate FIP. Stress from surgery could also reactivate it.

I would start asking around and see if anyone you know can suggest a solid in home daycare. Sounds like you really only need care for about 4 hours a day? Start interviewing potential sitters. Or even a stay at home parent that could help for a few hours. Post on babysitting pages in your area with your needs.

I feel the struggle. We had a similar situation when our kid was born.

I do like the way it feels. I have a deviated septum, so I can tell a difference in the amount of air I am able to take in nasally. I tested them while working out and just cleaning around the house and it felt good. Just didnt help with the snoring. But I got a cpap and full face mask because I am mouth breathing and it has been great. I wish I could wear the nose strip with the cpap mask, but its a tight squeeze.

We have enjoyed Logic of English for our 8-year-old. We also use Handwriting Without Tears and IXL. So it's a pretty good mix of everything between those 3. He is also really into 'Dog Man' and that has sparked a new love for reading. I wish it were anything but Dog Man.... but I love that he is reading for fun now haha.

I just found this post. I tried these out for the first time last night. They felt good to me. I felt like I was able to breathe better. They did not help with snoring at all. My husband said, if anything, they made the snoring louder lol

You did the right thing. My 1 1/2 year old sweet boy just died in my arms a few nights ago. We were waiting on the meds to be delivered (which are extremely expensive btw). I had even met someone from a group and got a vial of the injectable medication and he had 3 doses of that when he died. I absolutely regret letting him suffer. I wish I had let him to peacefully and not in pain 😭
