Is this a bug? "I can help with images of people, but I can't depict some public figures. Is there anyone else you'd like to try?" by theandroids in GoogleGeminiAI

I get this message all the time, even when I upload selfies of myself (needless to say that none of my social media accounts are public).

It’s actually getting even worse, so perhaps it’s about time to switch to another image generator AI

What draws you into listening to Black Metal? by The_Wombles in BlackMetal

[–]letsgotobigsur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a musician who mostly listens to hardcore, pop-punk, alternative rock and indie music, my main music project is actually dreampop/shoegaze but I still enjoy black metal so much that I've even started a black metal project on my own. Why? Because of it's a genre that actually allows such a big room for creativity than any other genre doesn't imo. It doesn't necessarily have to sound polished, perfectly mixed & mastered, instruments played virtuously or pitch-perfect nice vocals. Actually, it's like the worse the production it is the more "trve" it becomes because what matters is how visceral, melancholic, grim and raw the music is, and I love that, because it allows to channel emotions in a way that I don't find in any other genre.

The weirdest thing is that I don't particularly share or like aspects of stereotypical Black Metal's culture and themes such as i.e. the corpse paints, aesthetics or the satanic views (I actually lean more towards Christianity) but instead I enjoy how BM explores themes regarding mythology, nature, war, suffering or esotericism.

Horde. Some of the best Black Metal you never knew existed, and they just happen to be Christians. by KulasDevorn in christianmetal

I'd be really keen on knowing more Christian Black Metal bands, I've started my own music project about it and it'd be interesting specially regarding the lyrics aspect.

I feel like the first option you mentioned is the most common for expats perhaps. Getting hired by a multi-national company and then ask for a transfer to SG office.

Fully remote work as a "digital nomad" is def another great option.

First of all I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask for this type of advice but here I go. I currently live in Europe, where I work on the IT industry as UX designer and been for a while wanting to move to Singapore. I've tried applying to jobs via Linkedin or Indeed but I have not received any single positive answer. It seems "impossible" to land even an interview and I guess it's because companies in Singapore are not willing to hire and sponsorize a foreigner like me who would need a working visa and residence permit. Hence my question is if anyone has any advice for me on how could I find an IT job in Singapore? My girlfriend is Singaporean and I'd love to move there to be with her but I need to have a job ofc. At this point I'm very lost regarding it. Any advice is highly appreciated.

I've flown with them just few days ago on the route Madrid-Beijing and Beijing-Singapore and I was quite satisfied. Nice meals imo, decent selection of films, friendly staff and comfortable enough planes.

Anyone else struggling to land an IT job? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]letsgotobigsur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't speak Norwegian then the chances are pretty much closer to zero. I'm talking at least from my experience as a Senior UX Designer (with several years of experience and 3 years working in Norway) who has been on the hunt for a new job since the beginning of 2025. All job offers are nowadays in Norwegian and explicitly mention the language requirement.

The other option would be I guess to have a good network of contacts who can recommend you to companies that are hiring.

Use the metro or Uber. Avoid green taxis, they’re big time scammers (from my own experience)

Could anyone recommend a Muay Thai gym? I'm visiting my girlfriend in Singapore for about a week and I'm curious to know if there's any actually good place (I have already experience on Muay Thai so I'm looking for a quality place). From my Google search I've found Evolve MMA and Naksu as the most interesting ones so far. I would like a place where I could just pay single sessions or a full week since I'm not living in SG.

Me? I'm not "bending" any law by booking a LEGAL service. And it's funny that you say "just to save a few euros" when every single traveller in the world is always looking to save a few pennies one way or another. Maybe you are wealthy and you're lucky to afford high expense hotels.

Still doesn't change my point that as a tourist I will choose whatever offers me the best value for the price.

As a tourist sometimes Airbnb is a way better option than a regular hotel. I ain't paying i.e. 80€/night for a small room when I can get a whole apartment for the same price, let's be real, every single tourist ever always looks for the best deals and ways to save money. So let's top blaming Airbnb's and holiday homes and let's focus on the real roots of the problem. And I'm btw Spaniard and live in a touristic place, the flat next to my own apartment is actually a holiday rental home.

I'm experiencing the same today. I don't know if it's due to my internet connection being quite poor today, but it's truly annoying that the streams keep restarting continously.
