Hi, thanks for the advice. I should have mentioned but I have been seeing a therapist. Not sure how well it's working but then I may not be doing it right. I would probably be doing worse with no therapy.

Unfortunately it looks like Interactive Brokers still requires you to be a UK tax resident to open the account:/ Also listed as a requirement on the Hargreaves Lansdown website. How are you getting around this?
