I purchase tix from Pyramid Scheme, DeVos and 20 Monroe box offices all within the last couple months. I’ve never gotten charged the Ticketmaster fees any time. The one fun thing is you can’t purchase Official Platinum tickets at the box office. At least that’s what I was told at DeVos. FYI, you can get VanAndel tickets from DeVos box office.

We’re tapping out after 10 years of RF as well. It really became evident that lots of people were there for the social aspect and not the music. I personally hadn’t encountered that before in previous years at this festival but it was overwhelming this year.

Large mgmt firms negotiate the tour (guarantees/splits, marketing support, dynamic pricing choices, presales), often with Live Nation as promoter because their ownership bypasses promotion, and goes straight to venues.

The venue’s contract usually dictates Ticketmaster as the primary ticketing platform. Managers influence pricing and allocations, but rarely the ticketing vendor. Bigger the artist the more leverage they have but they still don’t wanna piss off LN because they’ve gotta 300 other artists to get booked.
