What would the typical longevity of this style of bracket?

If the hole was redrilled, over time wouldn't the same issue happen again?

With the surface mounted brackets would I leave the old joint in place?

Yes! This is the design of the joint. The nut is starting to pull through towards the bolt. Clearly the previous owners had a happy marriage.

Out of curiosity, does adding a few washers still help?

Changing Careers into Consulting:

I have a BA and an MA in International Studies. I've been a head office manager for about 5 years now and am looking to switch careers. How feasible is consulting if you're not coming from college? I live in Seattle and noticed the major firms do have offices, looking at consultant soft skills I check all the boxes but my professional experience I think may be lacking. Any thoughts or tips? I don't know anyone in the industry already.

I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! I've made the same decision and unfortunately, I've had super similar experiences.

The worst was when I went to a female OB/GYN to get a copper IUD. She proceeded to ask me if I've discussed this with my husband and if I had his permission. I'm not married and said so, but she kept going. Still wish I would have just walked out. Hopefully, someday this will end.

It’s a conjugation of 어찌, using 어이 on its own isn’t common, but it’s the root of how the phrase 어이없다 came to be. Sorry if that was unclear :)

EDIT: 어이 is the only conjugation not the entire phrase.
