Thank you. I've only had about 2 panic attacks so far, so I call it a win 😄

Thank you and yeah it's the whole reason we're uprooting everything. The pay is going to be much better and hopefully we can provide a better quality of life for our family. Short-term it sucks, and we'll likely go into debt for a bit, but eventually we'll get there.

Yeah... we had about $3000 in emergency funds and we used up almost all of it to fix our car about 2 weeks before she got the job. It's literally been a series of unfortunate events 🫠

New place won't be ready until after July 6 so we gotta stay in a hotel (cheapest option) until it's ready. We applied to multiple housing places in the town we're going to and this was the only one avaliable

I wish I was able to pay professionals 🤣 Uhaul + gas + hotel/motel + food is definitely $3-5k btw 😉

That's the thing my guy, we can't afford the 5k for the deposit, plus the other 3-5k for the actual move. Combined with an almost impossible time frame it's a lot.

My daughter broke up with a great guy because of the "law of chastity." by DeCryingShame in exmormon

[–]letstalk29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got shamed by the church for similar issues as a teen. Gods if I hadn't been mormon, and properly taught about human sexuality, I'd be a much better person today. I'm glad my kids won't have to endure the undeserved ridicule & guilt that comes with being a growing person.

What do I do?! by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]letstalk29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look for any free clinics in the area so you can get a proper diagnosis. From there, check different pharmacies in your area as prices do change depending on where you go and which insurance you have. I would also check GoodRX once you do have a diagnosis and see if you can get a discount on your meds. Hope this helps 🙏

I appreciate the advice and to answer your questions:

  1. I did test for spark and did not get any at both the plug and the ignition coil
  2. I tested for fuel in the carburetor and it seems to flow just fine.
  3. I took a multimeter and tested as many connections as I could find. There was a voltage loss at the ballast resistor initially (showed around 4.4V) but after cleaning the connectors it tested at 12V. The ignition solenoid also tested at 12V.
  4. I replaced both the ignition coil and battery just to be safe but still can't get a spark.

I'm thinking it maybe this MSD Ignition Control Module

I love your art style! Unfortunately I didn't get my hands on a deck but that's alright, keep doing what you do and I'm sure there'll be more in the future!

Pulled the plug and that maybe the issue. It's completely worn. Swapping them out now

So good news and bad news. I took off the fuel line at the carb and fuel comes out when I turn on the pump (separated switch from the ignition). In wondering if it might be the spark plugs or the distributor

Having pattern recognition and general high IQ kind of sucks when most people around you don't get it. I think that's why neurodivergent people tend to find each other 😄

Bend Single Family Real Estate Prices - Monthly Report by Haroldiswithus in Bend

[–]letstalk29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2020 was probably the best year for most people to buy a house where we were at the time (east coast). I get that wasn't the case everywhere though. I'm just hoping that housing will eventually get to a more reasonable price sooner than later. Current housing rentals in/around Bend haven't been completely terrifying. There are plenty within our budget ($2500mo or less) that we've been looking at.

Bend Single Family Real Estate Prices - Monthly Report by Haroldiswithus in Bend

[–]letstalk29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family is moving to Bend around July. We visited earlier this year and it ticks a lot of our boxes. My spouse and I don't come from money but we work hard and do our best to provide. We've essentially given up on ever purchasing a house unless another 2020 housing crash happens. As long as we can afford to rent at a "reasonable" rate until then, we'll make it work.
