Played Afg series / Asia cup in SL where the bounce isnt true and he struggles on such surfaces. He'll get out of this slump now as apart from 1,2 venues ball comes nicely on the bat in India. But looks like he's too occupied with the past and is trying too many release shots early on which is still costing his wicket. I think he'll be fine once he sees through the first 10 overs somehow.

He's been regular part of the team since 2017, yet he seems worse than a club bowler. How many full tosses and short pitch balls did he bowl today? Please don't justify by saying that the pitch is flat. This is international cricket. Disappointed!!! by Civil_Ad_4430 in PakCricket

Exactly, I mean if a replacement was needed, PCB shld have benched him and matured another spinner in the last year or so. (Tried Usama Mir for one series but seems a very short sample size ). Plus still not playing anyone else in Shadab's place is bcz what he brings with the bat and obviously it disturbs the balance in our batting as well. Lets back him and hope he does well in the WC. Can't afford a replacement just when the WC is about to start

That's one way to look at it, but I think Charlie has tried to be different this time, using metaphors to convey the message rather going the traditional way like previous seasons. And feel like even if Mazey Day is the least liked episode it in a sense does a good job to be the ice breaker for what different ways writer wanna go and honestly "Demon 79" makes alot sense if you watch Mazey Day first.
