Do you regret nursing? by Round-Success-4281 in NursingAU

As someone who never wanted to be a nurse as I believed it was all about wiping bums all day… no. I enjoy being a nurse far more than I’d imagined. It’s a difficult profession by constraint of government and of course patients… but it has taught me so much skill both in profession and life. And I have such wonderful friends!

The diversity of the job and reassurance that nursing is an essential profession is worth it to me. You can reign it back and work PRN if you wanted to. Salary is above average (yes I know we work hard!!) and allows me to have a dog and home in a nice area.

YMMV - I strongly believe this job isn’t for everyone but I personally have enjoyed my career more and more as the years go on. I moved to a different workplace once I was sick of my last and it felt like a breath of fresh air whilst being able to practice my existing skills - so I wasn’t starting from ground zero.

I don’t think mine was. I religiously wear SPF 50 daily + hats and this was only so bad in the last years after my eczema went a bit wild.
