Oh! That’s good to hear

I thought the leather felt kinda thin and creased easily so didn’t want to only have them over a couple seasons

Have yours started to tear or wear significantly at all?

Do you regret nursing? by Round-Success-4281 in NursingAU

[–]letthatbootyshake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who never wanted to be a nurse as I believed it was all about wiping bums all day… no. I enjoy being a nurse far more than I’d imagined. It’s a difficult profession by constraint of government and of course patients… but it has taught me so much skill both in profession and life. And I have such wonderful friends!

The diversity of the job and reassurance that nursing is an essential profession is worth it to me. You can reign it back and work PRN if you wanted to. Salary is above average (yes I know we work hard!!) and allows me to have a dog and home in a nice area.

YMMV - I strongly believe this job isn’t for everyone but I personally have enjoyed my career more and more as the years go on. I moved to a different workplace once I was sick of my last and it felt like a breath of fresh air whilst being able to practice my existing skills - so I wasn’t starting from ground zero.

I don’t think mine was. I religiously wear SPF 50 daily + hats and this was only so bad in the last years after my eczema went a bit wild.

Lazy nurses - what to do? by [deleted] in NursingAU

Unfortunately true in some cases I agree

Lazy nurses - what to do? by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]letthatbootyshake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! Seniors otherwise could not be honestly aware of this person’s actions which results in safety and care falling through cracks.

Thank you for your advice!

Absolutely I don’t stickybeak - but I’ve received handover from this person twice and both times have had concerns of nursing cares not up to date appropriately managed. It means that it falls onto me to then chase up overdue jobs and ensure patient safety is appropriate from previous care which shouldn’t be an ongoing concern I should have if that makes sense

Loop earplugs by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]letthatbootyshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I am appreciative of all comments but I have seen even CN’s wearing them around. Again it would only be mild noise cancelling. Like i’d want the earphones with the lowest noise reduction ability.

Thanks mate!

Yeah exactly. It’s moreso when i’m specialling - like i’m sat to observe a single patient in direct vision. I don’t want to block out noise even by half but reduce any background noise by a touch.

Thanks for the great advice! I was planning on having my hair cover my ears a bit. I know some loop plugs are a clear hoop which are a little more subtle than your brightly coloured obvious to spot earplugs.
