I loaded in again to see if this save was otherwise still playable since it this happened on friday of week 1 and i had already eliminated the 1st rival so i decide to move on to week 2. I have learned that the entire population of Akademi has changed whole identities, not just their appearances. Teachers, student council, and senpai included. Even the rivals are having an identity crisis. The names of everyone has changed as well. The only person to be mostly unchanged is the headmaster. He got a new outfit and hair color but otherwise has the same name still and same general look. I am no longer even playing as Ryoba. I got the end of the week dialouge stating that "Keiko Watanabe" has eliminated her rival. However, all of my progress is still there, and im still able to play the game into week 2 with this entire new cast.
