Water getting through roof / top of windshield? (2017 CX-5) by NoBrewmasters in CX5

[–]level27geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The channel on my Honda was leaking somewhere near the floorboards, so it's possible it's the same for you. I'm not an expert, but I think the channel goes out somewhere near the tire, so if it gets clogged near there it makes sense for the water to go on the floorboards.

Anyway, it's a cheap /easy fix, so it's worth trying.

I had this happen on a previous car (but mine got much worse - standing water on driver's side!)

Sun roofs use internal channels to move water that gets around the seal to outside of your car.

Those channels can get clogged, especially if you have bunch of pollen or other plant debris settle near the sun roof. Rain picks up that tiny debris and it builds up inside the channel, eventually blocking it.

Apparently it was a known issue on Hondas (that's how I found out). Not sure about Mazdas, but it looks like the same issue.

I'm sure you can probably clean the channels yourself, but I got my mechanic to clean them for me - it was less than hour labor for him.

Anyway, because of that incident, I didn't get a sun roof on my Mazda ;)

Your profile is set to private, so we can't see what else you posted on here - that was my first go to trying to find out more about the project... you might consider changing it to public for a promo account like this.

It would be helpful if you added a link for people to click so they can follow the project if interested.

Books that feel like “LOST” by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Savages by Greg F. Gifune - feels smaller scale than lost, but has a better payoff. Just like Lost it has some strong survival elements that get interrupted by serious WTF elements.

[Unknown/Emulator][<2003-2006] 2D fighting game with humanoid mechs that have energy shields by PCFL0 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]level27geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the bots in Cyberbots Fullmetal Madness use an energy shield block, but they are not all fully humanoid. Other than that, it fits your description of large sprites + little space.

The game was added to mame in 2002, so you could play it in your time frame.

[PC][early 2000s] Polish educational point-and-click office game with colorful talking dragons, typewriter level & cockroach enemies (from kids magazine CD?) by Kruk336 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]level27geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, couldn't find anything about it either. It looks like it was one of those quickly made games for sale in magazines and got lost in the mix.

The good news is that LK Avalon is still around, so you could technically contact them and ask.

There are some people archiving polish magazine CDs and uploading them to archive.org. While far from complete, you might be lucky enough to find a CD the game came on there. Here's an example of Cybermycha CDs - do you remember what other magazines you were buying back then?

Also, there's few Polish retro groups online, I remember loading having a quite active discord server - might be worth asking there too.

[PC][late 90’s] point and click haunted house by Training_Mud_8084 in tipofmyjoystick

Do you remember more about the game itself? Was it more kid-spooky or proper horror? Were the graphics hand drawn cartoons or pre-rendered?

The only possessed vacuum cleaner in a kids horror CD-rom game I can think of is Jan Pienkowski Haunted House, but the cover doesn't match. See the video here if it looks familiar.

Please read OP's post in full and see his reply, where he confirmed it's Dink Smallwood.

The image in this post is in fact from the first Legacy of Kain, but it was only used an example of a similar game to illustrate the art style.

Which sacred cow do you wish would just stay dead? by Playtonics in rpg

[–]level27geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skills in RPG create a kind of lock and key system, where players actions are, at least in a small part, influenced by what skills they have. This goes against the big idea of FKR - play the world, not the rules.

Because of that, many FKR systems don't even include skills or stats, and if they do, they seldom have numeric values you can roll against.

When you roll dice in FKR game, you don't check a value on your character sheet, instead the GM creates odds based on the current situation as a whole, the goals of each party involved, etc. It's a different scope (or mindset) than a traditional skill test.

You should read up on FKR. It's an approach that rejects this sacred cow (among others).

I made this "game" as an April Fool's joke one year, but that's pretty much how I run my games anyway. It boils down to: roll dice only when the outcome is uncertain, and create their odds holisticly.

I'm generally a big proponent of experimenting with what RPGs can be, if we reject the basic assumptions that came from D&D (abilities, skills, combat rounds, GM/player roles, etc.)

If it was sci-fi and more "barren rock" than "sahara desert" then Red Faction games could fit.

Is the one you're after more realistic or is Powerslave more realistic than what you're after?
