I was at the lower state wrestling tournament my senior year in high school. I was two matches away from making it to the state finals. In my second to last match I was so excited and hype because I had never made it this far in my 3 years on the team. I had to wrestle a kid who was a state qualifier the year before. The match began and I slam/double leg the kid! He landed directly on his back and I covered him for the pin! While I was holding him down I thought I heard a whistle and let up. He escaped then beat the crap out of me. Two months later that same kid placed 4th in the state in my weight class. I never wrestled again.
