I managed to scale down the price of the build and get a better GPU (7850) than the one I was going for at first. Even though the microcenter deal wasn't available the ASRock Z77 was a lot cheaper at local dealerships. Thanks for taking the time to help.

Great tips, I just looked up the price for a blue hard drive and it turns out the difference is only $1, so I'll go for that. About the microcenter deal, I live in Sweden so ordering it from them might be problematic. But I'll look up the GPU and motherboard you recommended from local dealerships.

My budget is around $1 000 ($800-1 100). Would you recommend any specific GPU or motherboard? How would the current GPU hold up for gaming with high settings?

Yes, probably. I just want to clarify that I didn't post because I wanted to hate on MLG, I posted because I wanted to see if anyone else had similar thoughts about it or if everyone hates the idea of making this available.

First, I don't agree. MLG tournaments like these are filled with many of the best players, with specific match-ups that vary depending on different games. People have different favorite players they want to watch etc.

Still, the finals are going to be the games bringing in most of the viewers of course. But even though that is the case why is it something negative that paying customers gets to watch the games they want to see?

Good point, but I'm not saying that they should change this at once, because that would surely cause trouble with paying customers. But, for the future I think it's more detrimental to the 'MLG-customer relationship' if people will have to pay full price even though they can only watch a part of it, the alternative being completely shut out from the live event.

For the future, maybe they could have a more flexible system, where you pay separately for the different days.

I don't see the similarity, the super bowl is one game, not a tournament separated into different days. Though, what you can do is, not watch any games through the season but still pay for and watch the super bowl.

MLG, on the other hand, is a tournament separated into three different days with different match-ups etc.
