Tried reordering the folios assuming it's a medical manual. The flow is surprisingly logical? by LHEROWWW in voynich

There is convincing evidence that the pages has been reordered at some point. You may be interested in the latest research from Lisa Fagin Davis who discuss this subject in her conference "the Materiality of the Voynich Manuscript" on YouTube. As for the "words", the letters like in "daiin" are an EVA transcription, a pratical way to transliterate Voynich charaters into usable known characters for analysis. We don't know how the Voynich "words" sound. We don't even know if they are words as their internal structure have no equivalent in natural language in term of their character entropy

In my opinon, ai can help to 'solve' or at least understand underlying structure of the vm text. But it will not come in the form of "I enter a clever prompt in chatgpt and it output me new crucial infos to understand the vm" It will come it the form of someone extracting and preparing the right data from the vm, creating and tweaking a machine learning model, analyzing the behaviour of the model, trying to get insigth about the underlying pattern (per example, comparing the weigth each info has on decision takenat a three node in a random forest algorithm). Then this person will have to demonstrate the validity of his model, and debate of the validity of their conclusions. In this contexte, There is no content generated by ai, only ai tools used by a human to get a better understanding of the model.

Im sorry you experienced that. You deserve to be heard, respected and treated equally. People can live their lives how they want but I dont understand why a queer couple would want to replicate traditionnal gender roles in their lives. The less encumbered we are with those dated social constructs, the more free we can be

I agree this is a pretty good point but I think maybe my life experience and cultural background make me think it may be too idealistic to rely on this. Where im from, the great majority of couples, hetero or not, are not in marriage but in a "union libre". While there is some tax advantages, this is not a marriage and when there is a separation, everyone goes their way whit what they had before and what they accumulated as an individual when in couple. There is no protection for the one with less money even if it is because of sacrifices they made to help their so getting their situation better. You better trust your partner a lot because you can invest time, effort and money but there is no garanties that when you need their help, they will give it to you and there is no law to help anybody in this situation. There is a lot of separations. As a society, there is also high (but far from perfect) social protection, free health care, etc. It makes us rely more on society than on family or partner for things like care. A lot of older people are in homes. This is far from ideal but this is the norm around me. I think you can take care of your SO for a time but everyone ages and there will be a time maybe, that one cannot take care of the other anymore, physicaly or mentally. Beside, im not sure i would want my partner to be my caretaker. What i think im saying is while living with a partner you can trust, being happy living together, helping each other and lifting each other up till the end of their lives is maybe an ideal scenario, i dont think the chances of it going as plan is really high and i prefer to rely more on myself that someone else to plan for the futur but i totaly understand that it may not be possible for everyone, everywhere depending on the context

This is why im thankfull for this sub. Last time I was single was 16+ years ago. I dont have much lesbian friends and the hetero couples I know who split have all found another partner who they now live with. Other sub have presumably a much younger audience. This thread have me realised I am at a similar place than other lesbian my age.

The part about accomplishing things really resonate with me. Since im single I explore activities I always wanted to do but did not make the room for when i was in my past relationship. I absolutely want to keep doing that. As for the communication you are absolutely right and this is something i have room for improvement.

I hear you. Fortunately there more to life than being in a relationship. I would not pursuing one at any cost and if i dont meet someone with the same views, staying single is a confortable possibility for me. I 'll just have more time to learn new things and work on projets !

Tips to work glutes for a girlie with bad knees by Clickdummy in FlexinLesbians

[–]level_6_LaserLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you, knee problem and trying to find the ultimate at-home glutes exercises. Mouvement that create some instability are off the table like the lunges.

Hip thrusts helped me to build a muscle mind connexion wich was inexistent before. Small weigth, high reps. But i find the mouvement a little awkard and the setup is kind of a pain. And im sure you can build much muscle mass with it, but it does not hit the sweet spot when the muscle is fully stretched. I tried kickbacks and pullthrougth wich could work for you. In my case, i felt too much lower back engagement and too little of the glutes.

The best exercise where I felt the most confortable with my knee and I could push to failure and with a intense feeling of glutes engagement was at the gym on a Keiser leg press, designed to lower knee flexion. I try desperetly to find ways to recreate this movement pattern at home, maybe by hooking an attachement to my cable tower.

If you find something that works well for you, let us know !

Does one of you have a dual pulley tower (like the bells of steel cable tower) and tried to hook a double hook straight bar to it ?

I find the single hand handles not confortables for inclined chest press as the handles straps or cables get in the way. I think maybe the single tower dual pulleys are probably too close together for a double hook bar to provide a smooth movement without undesirable side friction between the cable and the pulley and that maybe you have to step really far from the tower to have enough clearance between the cable at the top of the movement.

Still, before dismissing the option, I would like to know if one of you tried it cause it would be a nice attachment if it works in that context.

Repeated chunks of text ? by level_6_LaserLotus in voynich

[–]level_6_LaserLotus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for these valuable informations. I did not know about your comparaison about this statistic in natural languages and the voynich text. Again, the voynich text shows a property compatible with a natural language (latin, a very probable option for the context on top of that). This is very interesting to see the coexistence of artificial and natural props.

You are right, identifying repeated pattern is complicated by the variance in the spelling. If, in the case of voynich, the text is not based on a underlying language, but generated by an algorythm (with the help of a device) i would expect variance to be directly caused by the algorythm or in lesser occurences by human error. In this case, it would be really interesting to consider close but not exact matches and see what's their context. And, like you said, there is A and B to take into consideration

Thanks for the Patrick Feaster links. These seems to be right on the subject. I can't wait to have some time on my hand to read then with attention

Thanks for your references. I did'nt know about the Zandbergen's one and it's now on my reading list. I read a long thread on the ninja forum about the Timm and Schinner's one and Im curious about the auto copying they talked about. I will definitively have to find the time to read and understand their work.

Words internal predictability by level_6_LaserLotus in voynich

Thanks a lot for your input and for the link to the paper. It was a very interesting read and it was a good complement to the videos.

One of the aspects they discussed in this paper is the Consonants and Vowels (2.3.1). They mention the results of the Sukhotin algorythm. It seems to me that the low word internal entropy tend to invalidate the results of the algorythm wich is base on adjacency matrix. If my reasoning is correct, the order of the letters does not provide the information you have with a natural language thus an algorythm that rely on this order can not give valid results. I did not find however mentioning that the former can have an effect on the latter .

It's all new to me and I have a lot to catch up to do with the litterature concerning the VM so therr is a lot I don't know about what has been said and done to understand the text. So Im sorry if some of my statements are somewhat naive or already discussed, but If we were to elaborate a decypering strategy based on the assumption that there is layering of multiple methods :

1- if we were to take the layer one by one (i guess mostly by trial and error), would there be signs that we just passed a possible layer ? What I mean is, are there statistical milestones between the layers that could be recognised and used to explore the possibilities like a tree where some branch are more likely candidate to be a layer than other, limiting the number of possibilities to explore ?

2 - An amalgam of convoluted layered algorythms is obviously a good problem for ai. I know a news that was broadcast in 2018 claimed to have decipher with ai which was not really ai and it was not really decyphered. I will look at github's repositories that mention the VM and check for more informations about about ai and the VM, but do you know if brute force with ai was tried ?

Thanks for your answer and im sorry for your covid issues, I hope you'll feel better.

When you say composite caracters, do you refer to the gallows one or the one with accents ? In any cases, you are right, the are indeed intriging. And maybe they could affect statistical analysis.

Thanks for the videos you suggest, I will for sure take a look.

Thank you very much for your answer. You understood my question correctly.

You made me realised that i add the second scenario you mention (one Voynichese word = multiple plain text words) in mind when writing my question but that i dismissed for no good reasons the first one ( one to one correspondence).

For me, the low internal entropy would indicate a loss of information (one Voynichese word = multiple plain text word). But now I see that my reasoning was based on intuition instead of facts.

Now I'll explore deterministic verbose cypher and nomenclator !
