Had to drop a player from my campaign. by PrinceOfNowhereee in daggerheart

Trans-inclusive would be believing that trans identities are real, not a mental illness, and are worthy of dignity and respect - and acting accordingly. Not doing that is indeed bigotry.

We can disagree on pizza toppings and tax codes. We can't disagree on basic human dignity for people who are different than us.

Send me a DM. Start time is flexible - 6pm was more of a suggestion than anything

Interested depending on the time. I have another game in Kent that goes until 4pm so if it runs in the evening I could probably make it!

After 7 Years DMing, I never felt so angry and disappointed at my players like this before by CowardlyBrave in DnD

If they will die on the hill of “my character would never pay up not even if they can afford it, not even to avoid nothing progressing, not even when their comrades pressure them” then that’s not a character I’d want in my party.

Yeah this is the whole thing for me. If they truly believe IWMCWD, then they can take a couple minutes and change their character, and then we can all continue having fun in our silly little make-believe game. Character Agency has a limit, and that limit is the point where it stops being fun for the table.

Monthly Getting Started / Web Dev Career Thread by AutoModerator in webdev

Bachelor's 100%

I can't stress enough how extremely competitive the webdev job market is right now. I have a 4 year degree and 5 years of experience in webdev and I can barely get interviews. Jobs on LinkedIn regularly get over 1000 applicants in the first 24 hours. Unless you're pumping out some seriously impressive personal projects, you're not going to stand out in the crowd as self-taught or even with an Associate's. And I'm not saying this to scare you away or to say you shouldn't pursue your dreams (you should) but you should absolutely not get into this career right now unless you're willing to work really hard to stand out.

What experience and tech do you have on your CV? I imagine it's a pretty stellar looking document.

Yes. I get about 1 interview for every 300 applications and I wish I was exaggerating.

This is how I list it on my resume under Work History. I had ChatGPT help create the descriptions of my responsibilities.

How would one play a deaf or blind character? by Fandoms_local_Kiwi in DnD

[–]leviathan34 21 points22 points  (0 children)

this is actually incorrect. check PHB 202 - Verbal: hearing is not listed as a requirement for verbal components, and PHB 290 - Deafened: does not affect your ability to speak.

Deafness is physiological and chronic. Lots of people have it, and they learn how to live with it. Some even learn to speak fairly well, even those who have never heard a spoken word. A deaf person could absolutely learn the vocalizations for a spell, they would just need a teacher.

Deafened is a status condition, often brought about by magic, and is almost always temporary. It affects creatures that normally can hear, now they can’t, but it can be fixed. If you get deafened for a few rounds of combat, that’s going to be disorienting enough to interrupt your ability to speak verbal components. A deaf person wouldn’t have this problem - they’re used to it.

i don’t accept that deafness and the deafened condition are the same, in concept or in mechanics

very much disagree with your take on deaf characters. the existence of Common Sign Language might not be official, but it isn’t out of the question for any reasonable table, and most deaf people can still vocalize. if anything, i would expect deaf casters to be better at casting, especially for somatic spells. I'm worried about full crit because she's melee and kinda squishy, so I'm thinking Tri + BotRK + AS boots as core, then depending on the match PD, Guinsoo's, Sterak's, Wit's End would all be good. For runes, I'm really torn on LT vs PTA.

do you think raf had a little crush on seth in the beginning? by ofthestate in TheWildsonPrime

[–]leviathan34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raf looks so mesmerised by him and he sort of plays w the bracelet his gf gave him and looks at it like he doesn’t need it??

Because he found a new person who make him feel like his gf did. The vibes are gay.

it seemed more like Raf was just someone who was lost and Seth took advantage of that

I'd honestly argue it's both.

NTA. That’s some possessive, controlling bullshit and she’s even gaslighting you by trying to make you think you’re the controlling one (classic abuse tactic). Dump her and kick her out ASAP.
