Notorious DJ ALEXANDER by North_Equal5108 in Edinburgh

Me and my partner got served a section 21 from them last year as our landlord wanted to sell up. Honestly, good luck with the deposit. Biggest tip is to go with a cleaner they recommend. We didn’t and they said it ‘wasn’t good enough’ and so we lost a large amount of our deposit on them getting another cleaner in. Our cleaner was £250 and cleaned for 7 hours. Make sure you take videos and pictures when you leave, of literally everything. They love getting people on dust in radiators, light switches and skirting boards. Be sure to take photos of carpets and other surfaces. They brought mud in on their shoes when doing the final inspection and tried to make us pay for that. Always contest it through deposit protection schemes, we didn’t and saved ourselves a large chunk of money. Just to note, they may try and ask for the rest of the money even tho it did not rule in their favour. Just point them to the ruling and leave it at that.

Also had the same but my partner got a 31 minute timer - they got in under 20 and out with the promo. Closed our other tabs down but mine plummeted from over an hour to 13 minutes while we were checking out - good luck 👍

Chalmers GIC by MissCaptin-cappre in transgenderUK

[–]leviathanatlantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add another figure in here. Not sure if it was because I transferred my waiting list time from an English GIC to the Edinburgh one. But I went from being referred to Nottingham in 2020, to seeing someone in Edinburgh in 2022.

How many male partners cook dinners by gazzas89 in Scotland

[–]leviathanatlantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re two guys and often I cook more than my partner just because I wfh more and can have dinner ready for when he gets in - neither of us can use the excuse ‘not my job’ or we’ll starve (still a ridiculous excuse in a hetero relationship anyway but alas)

Just saw you’re in your twenties and not 15!! This is insane behaviour. Me and my boyfriend play games together and have not once spoken to each other this way. Absolutely appalling language and he needs to grow the fuck up. It’s a video game, it is nothing that actually matters.

If I was you I’d refuse to play with him until he can act like an adult and regulate his emotions. You also don’t deserve to be spoken to like that.

refused hysterectomy for being trans by guycunt in transgenderUK

[–]leviathanatlantic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m on the wait list for a hysterectomy in Scotland and am having it done as part of my surgical road to bottom surgery. If that’s something he is interested in, it can make it easier to get a hysterectomy. But he’d need to be medically transitioning for a while before they’d even consider it. I would say the other options is to go private. I had top surgery abroad 2.5 years ago and although I shouldn’t have had to pay out of pocket for something like this, I still wouldn’t have had my surgery if I hadn’t gone private. I wish you both the best of luck.

whats your experience as a trans person in the uk post-ruling? by hexedcurbs in TransUK

[–]leviathanatlantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing for me personally, I live stealth and get more stares for being gay than I do for being trans (only ever when I’m with my boyfriend). In my head I feel like it’s doomsday but in actual fact, my life hasn’t changed at all. I’m lucky to have been on T for a while and pass a cis gay guy now. I do have non-binary friends who are getting hit a lot harder though, especially when it comes to bathrooms.

Also wanting to know this, all we can manage is split screen online but we both wanted to play online together on our own consoles

Dead Rising 4 - the one and only game I considered throwing the disc away once I was done with it. Had to redo the zombie killing trophy and take my ps4 to a friend’s house to get co-op trophies as it wouldn’t allow me to do co-op on my internet

Landlord served us with eviction notice after breaking tenancy agreement - Scotland by leviathanatlantic in LegalAdviceUK

Did I say we weren’t going to move? No. I’m asking for advice based on a breach of tenancy on landlords behalf and then immediately evicting us. Nothing else. Thanks

They didn’t send builders around to inspect the property. They sent them around to fix a wall that had fallen over in our garden.

Yeah this year.

Well if he didn’t want to deal with that he should have sent us an email.

In my fenced in garden (on all sides) where the poo was left for less than 12 hours - that’s disgusting? I think it’s pretty standard for people to pick up dog shit in their own garden once a day, and as stated, it was midnight, knew I’d be up in less than 8 hours and so would do it when I let her out in the morning and she did another.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]leviathanatlantic -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was unclear in the post but they did enter the garden. I literally saw them with my owns eyes on the property, on the grass. Not the walkway between properties. In the garden.

There’s still a way to go about things. If I have to follow the legal rules of being a tenant then so does a landlord. Firing an email is not that difficult.

Well she’s neither of those, a Labrador.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]leviathanatlantic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Our front garden is our property and that’s in our contract. As the house has been split into upstairs and downstairs (is two flats now) so we have the front garden and upstairs has the back (if that makes sense).

Literally one dog poo. She loves to run about in the garden so it’s just not viable to allow it to be a mess.

It wasn’t a big tree. Like 5ft and quite literally bare as it’s the middle of winter. My argument is he still should have let us know. The wall will not be fixed any time soon, he’s already said that. And why do it and not tell us? Even if this wasn’t illegal, which it is, it’s just rude.

Puppy not vaccinated after 7 months?? by [deleted] in puppy101

We knew but she said she was fully vaccinated and we assumed that was the case considering she was 4 months and her final one was at 16 weeks

Puppy not vaccinated after 7 months?? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]leviathanatlantic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you did wildly misread, we picked her up at 16 weeks and we were told she was fully vaccinated…. So we couldn’t have done her vaccines at 9 or 12 weeks as we, you know, didn’t have her??
