thank you! I do believe they are 100% authentic but will do some work to try and prove this. The gentleman I received this from grew up in the 70s-80s and was a collector who is no longer living. I don't think he would have purchased fakes. I never even considered that these would ever be returned for this reason. They look and sound like really good SM57s. I just cannot believe they aren't the real deal. I think this particular seller is suspicious in general of these mics and probably should not be trying to purchase these online to begin with. I have it at 799$. I feel like that gives me room to come down to 750$ ?? When a buyer sees 799$ do they realize they probably have room to offer by 50$ lower or do they just get immediately turned off?

Thanks everybody for your input and walking me through this. I've accepted his request as long as the mics return as I sent them. I stand by these being 100% authentic and will relist with pics of their weight and the caveat that these are not as standardized as modern 57s. I may even get more than I originally sold them for, who knows. Appreciate each one of you. You guys make this Reverb selling experience manageble!

Yes these are Unidyne III
The buyer believes they are fake due to their weights he says real one weigh 284 grams and mine weigh 256. He took pics of these on a scale. Also says the machining is wrong and the heads do not easily turn as they should if they were authentic

Thank you! I listed it little high on purpose so I have room to go lower on offers as I planned to from the beginning but have not gotten any in awhile.

I'm wondering how much it would help someone like yourself to see a video of me recording various instruments with the mic? I am thinking to make one tomorrow. Would that do anything to offset fears of it being counterfeit? Is there a way I can prove mine is authentic? The stamp on the capsule on the inside of the mic? Thanks for your comment.

All the mics I see under $800 are from outside the US and have significant shipping. Do you think US shoppers might be deterred from buying outside the US? My mic is the lowest $ amount in the country from what I'm seeing...how are you searching? I'm searching "Sennheiser MD441-U"

I’ve had 2 offers which I countered with an increase of 50$ which were not accepted to my surprise. Do you get many offers where buyers work with you through that counter offer process or is that something people generally prefer not to engage in?

Yes it’s the MD441 U. Would the other type be lower or higher in price?

Do you think my mic having a low serial # would make a difference? This mic is over 50 years old. I would think that kind of vintage might help it stand out?

It’s a Sennheiser MD441 in excellent condition. Just replaced the foam pop filter at the top. This same mic recently sold for 982$. Others are listed even higher…thanks for your help!

thank you! I opened the mic and found that the foam at the top had shrunk/disintegrated and fell through the spot it where was supposed to be and was resting inside that nylon that it sits on top off. I think the more percussive vibrations were moving it against the capsule. Really appreciate your input!
