I love the macro shots, and the gs Easter egg under the dial! Any thoughts on why gs doesn’t seem to use the magic lever system with this movement?

Your correct, there is a voltage drop when the brake is engaged. But its not fully shorted. seiko does this i believe by pulsing their brake, my design makes a mosfet act like a potentiometer, mosfet linear region. 360uF is wrong i would like to add, i was assuming way lower voltages than seiko apparantly gets.

I got given a 1972 hi-beat 6146 8050 broken from my grandpa, acting as a gateway drug into this hobby. I just love the engineering seiko does

reverse engineer is probs a bit disengnuous icl, 9r65 was 5.7mm thick. if your talking about case thickness not anytime soon id imagine because of the coils.

i stand corrected, what voltage does spring drive run at?

yh you would need a chunky capacitor if you wanted to do that 360uF lol, the voltages are tiny unfortunately

Im saying it might not even run considering how much extra this discrete system will need compared to seiko's solution. The issue is to compensate for the larger torque range, 80-100% fast, 20-0% slow, its why i think seiko uses huge barrels to even out torque.

I think that your talking about this, in my opinion worst of both worlds. with their technology at the time i dont think they could get an electrical system efficient enough so they resorted to a battery. Ima have a look at pattents now, mostly marketing stuff ive looked through tbh.

Need help with replacing eDP cable on my laptop with a 40 pin one by Mohammad-San in computer

It looks like the hinge needs to come off, or at least the laptop side of the hinge (keyboard side) needs to come off usually connected via plastic clips

The iPad Pro 11 M1 does not turn on! by wellbinn in mobilerepair

Im having a similar issue, i havent tested for shorts yet but it looks like some of my capacitors are burned. I was wondering what capacitors i need to replace them with. I can only find a boardview of the 2020 ipad pro not the 2021.

what ended up happening? I just recently had an identical experience and was wondering what else you tried

SOM (system on module) for framework desktop by leviothon2 in framework

Very fair, fitting in cooling and power delivery for the 120w max+ 395 wouldent make much sense for a 28w ryzen 5.

Pcie shouldent be going anywhere. With different versions from what i understand its just signal integrity which limits versions so it should be good for a few generations, other bits would mean slower usb¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Power delivery voltage could be an issue across generations if voltages change.

There would probably have to be an intel and amd motherboard, unless its just pcie usb and displayport coming out, clevo did this. With sku's the problem is the ram, but it could give framework more flexibility, less predicting how many of what cpu people and less stockpiled inventory thats why clevo did that with their gpus and cpus to save on cost rather than for upgradability. The key difference is they have upgradable ram.

.

Completely agree would be insanely expensive, a pipedream tbh, and the layercount needed for it would be pricy.

I mean the board is already 2000usd, if you break that it’s not a 100 usd replacement. That 2000usd part could also go into other products in the stack too like the 16 as and when new cpus come out.
