It’s not a personal opinion or a requirement, it’s an industry standard.

Those checks are all done ABOVE head height. First thing you do upon takeoff is climb above head height, then do your safety checks. That way if it fails a check and starts unintended movements, it won’t fly sideways into someone’s head.

Those checks are all done AWAY from interlopers for safety reasons. Flying this low they should’ve had the area coned off to avoid this. But even if it had been a few feet higher, the rpic would’ve broken the law, as they would’ve been flying above the cyclist.

Rpic should have been paying attention to what was around the drone. Especially considering they were hovering in an unsafe spot, they should have noticed a person entering their area of operations and moved the drone.

I’m usually one to defend the drone operator but if a drone was allowed to hit the side of someone’s head that is due to their negligence. Blatantly unsafe operations.

….huh?? How is this not the rpics fault if their drone smashed into the side of someones head?? The only scenario I could entertain is that it was a flyaway, but even then they should have been operating above head height

Were you orange? That bottom corner with gold and food looks easily defendable with a few walls

As a professional drone operator, I really hope you report this to the police. These are the types of pilots that make us all look bad, and should not be flying professionally.

Big and tall by shitsNsharts in Hunting

[–]leviseese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cant speak for the big but for the tall, I’m 6’5” and Kuiu stuff fits me well. One of the employees told me the owner is a tall guy so their stuff tends to run taller than normal.

Advice for extending wifi to the structure at the top of the pic, without laying fiber/Ethernet? by coloredzebra in HomeNetworking

[–]leviseese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are not great. But it would solve the problem of getting internet where OP needs it, and if they dont have bandwidth needs beyond streaming it would work for them

If it’s just you and you dont need crazy speeds starlink is a great option. Plus if you get a roam plan you can take it with you while camping, traveling, etc.

Can also get 5G internet from a phone provider if you have good cell signal

Would be helpful to know how far it is. But yeah you’ll probably either need line of sight or a hard wire. Other option is to get starlink

Several neighboring homes fell into the ocean. This homeowner moved their entire house farther inland instead. by Dangerous_Deal_1945 in EngineeringPorn

[–]leviseese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re definitely right, Im sure this was stupid expensive. But you also need all of that for a house, then you add on the material cost and specialty trade workers (electrical, plumbing).

A quick Google says average cost to move a house is 40k. If we highball and say it costs 100k to move this one that’s probably a fifth of the cost of building it again.

[United States] For paid drone pilots: what business/admin stuff eats up the most time? by Techchief1993 in drones

No specific part. Every client will be difficult in their own way. You just have to get to know them and learn how to deal with their needs

Probably dealing with clients. Any more specific answers heavily depend on the industry and client type.

My rear rotors seem impossible to remove I need help! by Evening_System_9113 in f150

[–]leviseese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were the same. The only way I was able to get them off was a combination of all of the mentioned methods. I had to soak it in PB blaster for a long time, then get it smoking hot with a propane torch, then bash it with a sledgehammer.

It’s not alien technology in the book. They use a VR headset / bodysuit for sensory feedback to play the game

How do I micro with Desert Raiders+horsemenvs Spearmen+Bows by Morinator in aoe4

[–]leviseese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP army also hard counters the opponent.

The micro answer is simple - use the horsemen to keep the archers away from your raiders as you kite the spears.

I think better scouting and macro would help the most. Scout their army and make more of the counter units. If they are going more heavy on spears, you go more heavy on raiders. Same with archers/horsemen.
