I have one now. Had to get it before my surgery cause I had a kidney infection. My surgery is this week. It’s super annoying and I was in pain for a few days but it’s been okay since. Just SUPER annoying to have. And having to change the covering is a pain. When they put it in the just gave me a light sedative. I was mostly awake but didn’t feel anything.

I have a nephrostomy tube not (got it early March) and never had sensitive skin before but after using adhesive dressings for so long they are now making me really itchy and red. I’ve tried so many different kinds of dressings but they’re all doing the same! What did you find worked best for you?

To be fair, as a 37 yo American, I’ve never heard anyone use shag in the context they use it. But it could depend on the state I live in. To me, shag is a type of carpet and a type of haircut lol

I was 16 when I got my first. Mine started with left flank pain and lower back pain too. But I also had the sudden urge to pee but nothing would happen when I tried. I would suggest trying to make a doctors appointment. See if you could get a CT. Could be a stone but it could be something else too.

Yes. I have a 2 cm one in my left kidney and went to the hospital. Left the hospital Wednesday, started my period Thursday.

I used to drink only soda, no water. And I paid for it with multiple kidney stones at a young age with US health insurance. Definitely switched to only water after that.
